We’ve thoroughly enjoyed this vessel and we’ll be sad to see her go. But we have the opportunity to upgrade to an absolutely mint Sunseeker and we’d be remiss if we didn’t try to make the move. So we’re listing this tastefully updated 400DA for $114,900 and if we get an acceptable offer we’ll take it. If not, we’ll gladly keep it and enjoy it for many more years.

Boat is sitting in heated storage in Sandusky, Ohio. The sales paperwork will be handled through MarineMax as that’s who would be handling the paperwork on the other transaction.

Good luck with the sale, I would think you will be able to move it quickly as it looks to be a really nice vessel. I too have been keeping my eye on a Sunseeker, 58 Predator that is in really good shape and in my neck of the woods. I spoken to the broker about it a couple of times, might try to arrange a viewing.

Good luck Z.... Nice looking boat with upgrades. Did you post any pics on here of the TV project above the fridge? That looks something like what I want to do. Thanks

Sorry, I bought the boat with it done already. It’s quite simple; they merely mounted a flatscreen to the cabinet door with enough slack in the wires to still open and close the door. That’s it.

Thanks, no problem. I have never seen a cabinet door in that spot. Originally I believe there was a tube tv in that compartment. I pulled my old TV last year and just use the space for storage now. Again, good luck with the sale.

Good luck...What Sunseeker and what do you think the difference will be?

Its a 44’ Camargue, so actually very little difference in size and layout. But it’s roughly 5yrs newer, the cockpit is all one level, there’s a lounger to port so the whole family can sit together while I captain, there’s far more storage under seats and overall better use of dead space, guest stateroom has actual beds, and a Nautical Structures dinghy davit so we can get a console RIB. Minor differences, but for the way we use the boat, those differences will make boating more enjoyable.

It’s just a piece of cabinetry cut to size, hinged at the bottom, with two slide-locks on each side. The interior space is cavernous and can be used for any number of storage items, but we keep it empty.

Thanks Z, I appreciate the pics. Like I said, I pulled the TV last year and looking for ideas.

Kind of shocked. She’s been for sale for almost a month now and I haven’t gotten even one single nibble. Is it priced wrong? Is the market softening? We’re super motivated to sell and it seems like even that will be tough.

Its winter. People are still ice fishing.

Even when I was actively in the market for a boat I wouldn't make any phone calls in February because I wanted to see a boat in the water, not in storage. I also didnt want to make a.commitment and then have to wait two months for a survey.

Wait until April and then you will get a better gauge on the market.

I agree... March would be my indicator... people really interested in a must have will be looking in March....but more in April

I sold my 340 two winters back. I listed it in February and didn't get any action until Mid-March. From March through April it was a flood of emails, showings, etc.

In my experience the real kickstarter to boat shopping in the Great Lakes is that first 60 degree day.

My thoughts on your price (having bought a 1997 400 not too long ago) is that you're priced perfectly for a well informed buyer looking for diesels. From the photos your canvas looks great, you've got the cockpit flooring lots of people love, extended swim platform, super clean.

Where I think you'll struggle is for people looking to get into a "solid 400" that are more heavily focused on price. You can find freshwater gas powered late 90's 400's that will survey "above average" in the low/mid 80k's.

My last thought - maybe you need different pictures of your cockpit? I assume it's mostly lighting but my wife wouldn't be able to get past the two browns, upholstery and flooring. I'd have to drag her along to the showing to demonstrate it looks amazing in person and the boat is "the one". :)

Have you put in on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace? I found my 400 on Craigslist Detroit, that is where I would list instead of Sandusky. Never had much luck with Boattrader or Yachtworld.

Just clicked through the pictures - the boat looks great. The listing is just too early for the midwest, even for serious buyers. Hang tight and if you don't get a lot of traffic reevaluate the pricing after the ice has thawed and boat has been in the water in the sunshine for a few weeks. Don't automatically assume the lack of traffic is a price objection.

Having just bought one of these a couple years ago, the only thing that caught my attention is that ugly-a$$ discolored microphone on the VHF. Not like that would keep me from buying the boat, but everything else looks brand new, and that really shows its age. Small cost to replace.

We just sold out 99 40 sundancer last week. It's inside heated storage and the buyer had a structural survey done and all went well. The broker is keeping $5k in escrow until a sea trial is done. I sold it for $130k. But it was immaculate, with diesels, bow thrust etc. So keep your chin up. It'll sell soon.
