I just installed a nice Promariner charger. It shows me a lot , but not separate bank info or amp draw per bank. I was wondering if there was anything out there that displayed voltages and Amp draw on a type of digital panel that I can glance at for each bank of my batteries? This would be installed inside the cabin. Thanks

Sure you can find all kinds of digital gauges on line That will show both voltage and Amp draw.

I’m looking for a panel display, not a gauge.

For those that have added a shunt-based ammeter, how do you actually mechanically install the shunt? The circuit wiring makes sense, but I have trouble wrapping my mind around where you physically mount the shunt relative to the negative DC bus.

Best I can figure is a slightly smaller bus bar you move the DC battery cable to with a short battery cable jumper to the shunt, and then another jumper from the shunt to the existing DC bus.

It seems like this would be a ton easier if the shunt was packaged inline with a short jumper so you could just attach the existing DC battery cable to one end of the jumper and the other end to the battery negative terminal.

I like the wireless monitoring you can get with the Victron monitors, as you can get kinda lazy and mount the actual monitor in the engine room and skip fishing the monitor cable to the helm and mounting it there.

Mounted mine on the front bulkhead above the batteries. You have to add some additional cables to go from the - battery to the shunt and change the ends on the existing cables. I happen to have a crimper so I just cut the - cables and spliced in the shunt with new lugs.

Yeah, I too just took delivery of the Victron 712 with WiFi. I was wondering how to run the wire for inside cabin mounting. Now I know how to do it! Mount in engine compartment and monitor via WiFi!

Now to figure out which side is the house batteries...lol.
