My 2000 380 DA is about 2 hours away, and in central Illinois, most winter days are around freezing. So I pick and choose the good days and try to tinker a couple hours when I can.
yesterday, I had a few projects I wanted to work on, one was to replace the 6 kicker 6.5 and 10” sub with JL Audio.
right out of the gate, the port arch speaker was too deep. There is a thickened part of the FG arch for the grab handle on the other side.... starboard side, has a bolt for the Antennae.... I really wanted to NOT use spacers, but I don’t think I should dremmel out the FB or remove one of the 4 bolts either.... so I ordered the spacers. No issue changing the next set out, helm and beer the companionway door. PO installed a set by the Lazarette door. Those were a snap too. Swapped the Sub out, always fun to watch a beached wale half under the seat, change a sub out. Little tight quarters, but really not bad....
I noticed the professional installer that put the current system in used the large battery cable behind the 12/120v electrical cabinet to feed the Amp (kenwood rated at 60x4 at 4 ohms). Planning on running a set of #4 with fuse block etc next trip up, just curious if that was standard, seems Hoosier and I didn’t see a fuse on the wire....
Here is a pick of the speaker covers I am using, I love them!
besides that good day, windy and 40 that’s day. Of course SB sunday is 60 and sunny. I don’t watch the game, but my wife likes me to cook sum good snacks up....
