410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

Same location, but there is enough room to plug in something and then lock door in open position. Although, not sure if there is enough clearance for an iphone charger.

One of those things that makes me scratch my head and wonder what they were thinking.
They probably put it there because they had to run electric wires that way for the fridges and it was easier to just run a bundle.
Seems that whenever I need to plug anything in there I wind up stepping over the cord carefully so I don’t trip.
One of these days I’m going to get around to putting one back in the trunk.

Where is your factory installed cockpit outlet located.
Mine is on the port side just before the cabin door.
When the cabin door is open it blocks the outlet.
Standard location

Has anyone ever removed the TV from the aft cabin? Mine is old and needs to be upgraded but I don't see where I can access any screws that hold it down. I've got the v-berth tv and the one in the kitchen out but the aft cabin tv has me stumped.

I dont believe the aft cabin TV is standard, dosent appear in my manuals and I certainly dont have one in my boat, got one in the forward cabin, one above the fridge in the galley and one out in the cockpit attached to a bracket on the port side of the targa. I've seen them fitted in pictures of others boats but always assumed they have been an owner mod.

I couldn't find them either when I was updating, and since I was disposing of the old TV anyway I used a cold steel chisel and a hammer between the bottom of the TV and the black piece of wood it's mounted to. Couple of hits, and it popped right off.

I took mine out and replaced it with a flat panel on a bracket.
I seem to remember that it was mounted on top of a board. Secured to it from the bottom of the board up through to the bottom of the TV.
The board slid in to the space and then was secured with screws.
I know for sure that my forward cabin TV was mounted that way and I’m pretty sure the one in the aft cabin was in the same way.
While I can’t remember for sure exactly where the screws were I know there were a couple of them in there and it took a few minutes to find them, but they were there.
Look closely at the sides of the old TV, close to the forward edge. That’s where I think mine were.

Thanks everyone, I'll take another look. It would make sense that the base was mounted the same as the v-berth tv, however, the base in the v-berth had a screw holding it down that I was able to access through the closet. The aft cabin tv looks like it is mounted in a box and I only see access from the front. I'll bring my cold chisel as a backup-I don't plan on saving the tv anyway!

I’m not at my boat, but I think if you open the cabinet doors in the aft cabin (the ones just aft of the TV) and look to the left (towards the TV) deep inside there you see a panel that is removable. If so, remove that panel and see what you can find. There may be a screw behind that panel.
I changed mine 2 years ago. The old TV’s are stored in the attic, the boat is shrinkwrapped in a boatyard and I probably won’t be down there until the weekend to refresh my memory. If you don’t figure it out by then I can take a look at it to see if I can refresh my feeble mind. My TV’s are on swing brackets so it is easy enough for me to take a look in there for old screw holes.

Thinking about shipping my boat to Florida for a couple weeks this summer and wanted to see if anyone could provide some guidance. She is on Lake Lanier in Georgia and I have no idea what to budget for transport. Can anyone recommend a transport company and give a rough idea of cost? I am open to send the boat to several destinations. I know this is a little vague but just starting to plan.

I should be down there Saturday to look at it. I did look in the cabinet that is aft of the tv and there is an access panel there but the TV appears to be installed inside a metal box and the access panel only gives me a view of the outside of the box. Hopefully something will make sense when I look at it this weekend.

I shipped mine from the ST. Croix River in MN to Marblehead, OH last year. I used Great Lakes Boat Haulers out of Michigan and they did a great job. I would highly recommend them, 2 days on the road and back in the water. I also got a quote from USA1 Transport. I think it was around $7 +/- for the move.

I'm thinking about replacing my front isinglass. Has anyone gone from strataglas to EZ2CY?

It would be a whole lot cheaper to rent a boat in FL!

I paid $2500 (one way) to move a 340 about 350 or so miles 6 years ago.

Has your boat always been fresh water?

The shopping cost will be dependent on the dimensions of your boat, and also how much prep work is needed.

I used C&J transport and they were excellent. If you search Club Sea Ray for "transport" you will find several threads with good recommendations

Your best bet is just to call a couple companies and get quotes. That will give you an actual idea, rather than trying to translate others' experiences with different boats from different locations.

They transport companies will ask for the actual length, width, height from the top of your boat to the keel, and also the weight, so be prepared with that info. For your planning, don't forget to include any haul out and launch costs, prep costs including removing props if necessary, and costs for shrink wrap if you choose to do that. You can get those costs from your marina with a phone call.

The transport companies can tell you what they expect or recommend for prep. I found some that required shrink wrap, others that didn't want the boat wrapped because if the shrink wrap rips it can really beat up the boat. I'm not interested in arguing that point here, just sharing information that it may vary by transport company.

That all being said, a couple of phone calls will give you much better cost information for your situation than we can.

Before you go very far with the notion of shipping a boat to Florida "for a couple of weeks", evaluate what part of Florida you want to be in.

NW Florida has some excellent boating areas very close to you in Georgia. Being 4-5 hours by car or an hour by plane from the boat could make frequent trips to the boat easier. There is also a serious lack of available slips for boats over 10 ft in beam. Hurricane Michael in 2018 totally destroyed 1/2 the marinas with wet slip capacity in Panama City/PCB. We have some locals who have relocated boats to as far away as Orange Beach or Gulf Shores AL. That has put slip demand pressure on the entire NW Gulf coast from Apalachicola to west of Orange Beach AL. Just do your homework and reserve slip space early. If you are talking about the East Coast or South FL, well, never mind.

Yes, always fresh water from what I got from previous owner. Sold in Tampa originally and shipped to TN.

I don’t know anything about Georgia geography.
Depending on how far you are from the ocean it might be cheapest to have a regular hauler pull it out of the lake, trailer it, then drop it in on the ocean side at a suitable ramp or marina, then run it to a Florida port of your choice on its own bottom.
