Happy 2020 New Year! But, seriously what happened to 2000?

Well 2020 is officially the last year in this decade and the new decade starts with 2021. I am looking forward to the next two decades in retirement.

Has it really been 21 years since we were saying 1999?....Haha...

Time flies like it's traveling at light speed....It would be better if time "boated" instead of "flew"...

That's the night my wife got diamond stud earrings!

How do you figure that? When you talk about the decade of the 1960s it means anything that happened in years 1960 - 1969. It doesn't include what happened in year 1970. When you are born your first year of life ends the day you turn one years old. Your tenth year ends the day you turn ten, not the day you turn 11.

However, the was no 1/1/0. It was 1/1/1 and 12/31/10 was the end of the first decade thus 12/31/2020 is the end if this decade.

The tough one to wrap my mind around is that 2050 is just as far away from today as 1990.
It is crystal clear where I was on Jan 2nd 1990: Going to community college in the morning and working in the mailroom at Weyerhaeuser in the afternoon.
I wonder just how much will be crystal clear to me in 2050...

This argument again...
For sure. We had this argument 20 years ago.

Time started at 0. Remember when the computer issue happened? You know, when we all had to go out and buy generators since the power grid was going to fail, and the said the sky was going to fall?

It was 01/01/2000, not 12/01/2000.

Irregardless, what's the difference?

I think a magnetic radio wave was emitted during Y2K and pre-erased our memories of the past 20 years, or something like that...

Happy New Year!

Once I reached my 60's I realized that years now lasted about 15 minutes. By my calculations, this decade should be over in about 2 and a half hours.
