New prop design.....interesting.

These might make sense if you bought the boat new, or if you were running the boat daily. Still might be hard to make the numbers add up.

Has anyone actually received a quote for a big cruiser yet ?

Nice concept but very few weekend boaters will be able to justify the cost and you will get close to zero on resale.

Lots of silly comments on other forums. If you look at the test closely, you'll see that they used the wrong pitch prop to collect the data. Not a good test.

Although run-of-the mill props are not available yet, if you look at their web site the custom pitched props are $4,500.00 for aluminum and (starting at) $9,000.00 for stainless.

New technology is good, but it takes years to optimize it and then more years to make it cost effective.

That buys a heck of a lot of fuel.....I doubt the ROI curve works well for the vast majority of boaters.

I put an inquiry for information at their site months ago when this thread started and heard nothing back.

I did some "back of the napkin math" since my boat is almost the same as the one they used on their testing including weight, fuel capacity and engine. The fuel savings I could achieve by switching props would pay for itself after roughly 11,000 gallons (aluminum version) and 22,000 gallons for the SS version. So assuming gas at 4.00 a gallon and my current usage, it would pay for itself by the year 2065. At that point in time I'll likely be under ground emitting my own gases, so it really wouldn't make much sense.

I revived the thread 2 days ago with pricing now on their website. Engines over 250 hp need the $9000 prop. So $9000 X 2 = $18k by my hillbilly math.

I spoke to them at the Miami Boat show this year. If I remember correctly, They were $5500 each for my 340. Don't quote me on that though. I do remember I tried to forget what she said as soon as I left the booth..LOL. I do remember it was over 5K each though.

Hope the business is good with the shipping companies.

I was interested at first since the range on my boat is a little on the short side (~90 statute miles). An 18% increase would get me a range over 100 miles which would be nice. Unfortunately, after watching the video there is only a 2% increase in mpg at 4000 rpm which is where I cruise. Paying $2000 for a 2% increase doesn't make any sense.
