In years past we've always had a football thread where people could brag about their team and besmirch opponent teams. At times the discussions got quite spirited.

Now there isn't even a mention of football. No mention of games, who has cinched their division. Nothing.

Isn't anyone watching football anymore?

Not
For
Long

These guys will wake up only when the advertisers see that a lot fewer people are watching the games. A material drop in revenue is the only thing that can help them get focus and stop this kneeling crap.

We are watching. From the Seattle area, so not feeling great about the prospects at the moment. Its tough trash-talking when you don't feel good about your team's odds...
But to your topic, I've noticed that lately more folks I know are discussing college football teams than NFL.

The bears as an organization have sucked for decades. Tough to change your stripes, but unwatchable at this point.

Mike, I'm still watching. Since I grew up in Seattle I will always be a Seahawk fan and I think most of the tantrums are over so I still watch. It will be interesting to see if Lynch has any gas left in the tank or will it just be....gas.

And now I live in the New Orleans area and not only do I get to watch the Saints....we have LSU to watch and root for as well. Go Hawks, Go Saints and Go Tigers.

I cancelled my NFL Sunday package when all the kneeling started. Now the NFL won’t televise the Anthem.

Stopped watching the NFL (National Felon’s League) 4 years ago. Have not missed a beat...

Why do men watch other men play a “Game” They pay them millions of dollars to play a “Game” little boys play for free?
I have better things to do with my time.
I’m actually not a sports fan our family are musicians

College football is my addiction. Huge Dawg and SEC fan. Saturdays in the fall will find us either on the hook with friends or at the dock glued to a TV. We used to travel and go to all of the games. Now we just have a tailgate every Saturday at the boat. The TV in the cockpit can be viewed from the water behind the boat or go up top and watch in the shade. Cockpit TV can be viewed from the dock with the electric smoker set up nearby. Just what we do....

Pro football went out the door for me when the salaries got out of hand in the 1990s. Loved the Cowboys from the Don Meredith days to the Troy Aikman times. When the kneeling business started, that was the final straw for me. Could care less now.

I was a sports junkie from age 8 forward. This was the mid '60s. About 10 years ago I completely stopped watching baseball. The pace of the game bored me. Now with it being a strikeout or homerun game I don't think I'll ever go back. The three point shot stopped my basketball interest a few years ago. It's now a dunk or three pointer game. I faded from football a few years ago due to all the situational rules and replay garbage and the constant contact allowed on receivers during their route. Pass interference is now just an arbitrary decision by an official. Hockey is about the only pure sport left, for me. Plus, just the concept of spending so much time and money just watching other people do stuff got to me. I try to do a lot more now and watch a lot less. It's more fun. Plus I've never gambled so that's not a draw for me either.

I love watching football but the kneeling crap really pissed me off. And now that joker is selling his branded sneakers out in an hour. I wouldn't be caught dead in them!

As a Patriots fan it's hard to not watch. I know many think they cheat but most are just jealous and the Pats haven't done anything that many other teams haven't done. As far as Kapernick goes screw him and Nike too. Anything I owned that had the Nike logo on it went in trash a few years ago. I still bothers me when I see any athlete on TV with the Nike logo on it. But of course it's all the $$$.

I haven't seen a full game now in years. Most of my Sunday's are spent at the boat.

Hottoddie, only thing I don't like about the Patriots is the quarterback. He seems to be very whinny when they don't win.
