Is it possible a can of oil was tipped over in the bilge? That's a lot of oil.

No, we didnt have any down there, the only possible thing i can think of is maybe the previous owner over filled or didnt tighten the drain plug as he changed the oil for us before we picked it up after the initial sea trial.

If it is an equal amount.....I would check for leaks:

Where the engine joins the transmission (rear main seal)
The harmonic balancer (front main seal)
Oil cooler and lines (rear of engine)
Remote oil filters and lines

The easiest way to find a leak on a 370 is to clean up the area under the engines and put white oil absorption sheets under each engines. Go for a ride and check the sheets.

Hey guys, was trying to track down a thread that had other 370 express owners in it, I know the post is from a bit ago but was wondering if there is a more recent thread with 370 EC owners, I have a question as to whether anyone else with the 7.4L MPI have experienced the same issues as I had. before pulling the boat for the season, I was in the engine compartment winterizing and I noticed an equal amount of oil under both engines, probably 1/2/-3/4 a quart but again an equal amount under both....I know it could be the oil pan but i just find it hard to beleive they would both go at the exact same time. If anyone has an suggestions of advice it would be appreciated.

Perhaps it was a sloppy oil change from a prior owner?

A few things to check... The Remote Oil Filter hoses can tend to leak if they are not tightened properly. Check those hoses! I ended up replacing mine just because... Check the underside of your Bell housing. If there is oil there, your Rear main seal is leaking. What Oil are you running? If I were you, I would clean up the bilge, lay down Fresh Oil Absorb pads and monitor it. My Starboard motor leaks slightly at the rear main, but its got almost 4000 hours on it and its 20 years old. I check my motors and Oil Levels after EVERY trip! I generally add about 1/2 quart between oil changes which is considered "Normal". - They are great Boats! Do you have the 310, 340 or 380hp motors?

Hey guys thanks for the quick replies and advice, once spring comes around ill have to get it straightened out and appreciate all your input.... they are the 340 HP 7.4l.....Im hoping its just some loose lines related to the oil....if it was just one of the two engines i would think something more serious but I still cant get over the fact it was the exact same amount below each one of the engines....btw have any of you ever heard of any of the other EC guys trying to put on a fiberglass hardtop or anything of the sort

There is another thread on here for our boats - http://www.clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/official-370-express-cruiser-thread-1997-2000.78001/. A lot of GREAT information.

There have been a few people looking to get a hardtop on this forum. Not sure what they ultimately did. There is a guy on Facebook that made his own. It really looks good. - https://www.facebook.com/SearayExpressCruisers/?epa=SEARCH_BOX - Go on FB and Message the guy. Maybe he still has the molds... Merry Christmas!
Awesome thank you very much, always good hearing from someone with the same boat!
