Bilge pump question

Triple 350 Mercury Verado

My primary bilge pump works manually but not automatically. I believe the float switch is located in the pump but I could be wrong. Does anyone know what pump I would purchase?

Can you access it with a hose and give it a spritz? Could just be some debris blocking the float.

There should be a small external lever that you can use to trip the float switch as a test.

tough to answer as there are so many options. I would go with a high capacity rule pump with an external float switch. In other words, upgrade the cheap original equipment they put in which in all likelihood is too small.

I looked in the parts manual and apparently there is an external float switch. I will tinker with that first. Hopefully just stuck with debris
