First post by a newbie to larger boats.

I just had a 310DA surveyed, but he didn't check the water system because the boat had been winterized (Lake Lanier, Georgia). I hesitate to purchase without knowing whether that system is fully functional, but I've also learned it appears to be quite the hassle to fill the system, check it, and re-winterize. Is there an easy solution?

I should add that the boat stays in the water all year, so not sure how cold it would have to get to freeze the lines...

it would be a little expensive, but put $100 worth of pink antifreeze and you should be able to check the basics and build pressure, test vacuflush, fresh water pump etc

PLUS 1 Spend a few bucks to purchase couple gallons of the pink stuff. Test the system and refill. 30 minutes, couple $$, piece of mind,...priceless.

Offer to split the cost for a technician to de-winterize, test, and re-winterize upon successful survey results. If it doesn't work you want to renegotiate your offer with the seller to get these items fixed...

7 gallons pink for the water system and 2 gallons pink for the vacuflush system at maybe $ 4.00 each = $ 36.00 well worth it.
Put 2 gallons in the water tank turn on water pump and test all faucets, shower and toilet that will check pump and all pipes, Turn off water pump and Pump 5 gallons into city water inlet and test all faucets, shower and toilet to check pipes then flush 2 gallons down toilet done.
NOTE : The above is with the hot water heater bypassed if you want to fill the hot water heater add 6 gallons of pink to the total. This might not be a bad idea to make sure the hot water heater does not have a leak.

Maybe the system already has pink anti freeze in the tank. If so all you have to do is turn on the switch and test the system.
