My 1992 270DA has a stove which is effectively non-functional (the switches for the electric eye in dock don't work anymore). The kitchen doesn't have a microwave (or a good place to put one). Should I remove the stove and put something else in there? If so, any ideas?

In my prior boat I had the Kenyon butane stove..Although the refills are a little pricey...It was a great stove..Check online and I think they are around 300 bucks.

Are posting about the kitchen in your home or the galley in your boat?

Sounds like he is cookin wherever he is...
Or grab one of these $40 jobs and call it "good". I think I've seen them locally for $20. Throw it away when it wears out.

I have cooked on alcohol stoves, and the Kenyon Butane is by far the netter of the two. It is cleaner, easier and safer to light, and I think the flame is slightly hotter, so cooking is closer to a real stove.

I pulled my original butane stove out and mounted a Magma kettle 3 on my swim platform and do all of my cooking on that. I have a portable butane stove if I need an extra cooking surface.
