Global warming is playing havoc on Minnesota's citrus crops this year.

Hottest spring, summer and fall I can remember in 58 yrs...…….

gotta believe...
Yup, somethings going on is what I believe, but hey, lets keep burning coal and keep fracking and see what happens. I feel sorry for the young people that have to live with what we left them.....pretty sad :(

I struggle with supporting any concept which is politically driven.

Take clean air and water. The US has made significant progress on both over the past 150 years and ranks in the top 10 countries worldwide out of 200. You can measure it and compare it to other countries and see without any argument that emissions are down and water purity is up. That is great for the American people.

In comparison....Global Warming/Climate Change/Climate Crisis can't be measured unless you put your thumb on the scale. There in lies the problem. AOC's Green Plan had little to do with making anything better. It was designed by her former Chief of Staff to force economic disruption and income redistribution while masquerading as saving the planet. That frankly hurts any meaningful investments because most people don't like being lied to.

I do believe that each of us needs to do what we can to make the world a better place. I just believe that if you are relying on a 15 year old and AOC as your climate experts....you are bound to end up in the wrong place.

The reason you don't see climate protestors in China is because China is already communist.

Only in the US is it considered “politically motivated”.

Remember how in the 50’s and 60’s Big Tobacco spent billions on junk science and propaganda to convince half the US population that smoking didn’t cause cancer? Politicians backed it too as there was a lot of money in it for them. It was also considered politically motivated. And hey it worked ..for a time. I think it’s pretty universally accepted that today, smoking is bad for you and indeed causes cancer.

Fast forward to the current situation ...Exactly what’s happening now with big oil and climate change. Big money for all who continue to propagate that the current climate crisis is not caused or accelerated by carbon emissions. And again ..it works. As evidenced right here in this thread.

I'm just curious ......if you believe this narrative and the dubious people pushing it.....why do you have a boat?

The vast majority of boats in the US are for recreation which would suggest that they don't serve a purpose other than to provide a pleasurable experience to their owners. I would bet that a week of recreational boating would equal a year of car emissions perhaps more.

If you believe it is akin to tobacco....then why have one?

The Sahara Desert used to be lush and green with rivers and lakes not to long ago. It's about the size of the USA, all 50 states. Some scientist figure the people that lived there must of had too many goats....and that's what turned it into a desert. I don't know if goat farts did it or if they just ate everything that was green. That would be lots of goats I'd think. It's amazing how they figure that stuff out, who'd a thought.

You guys just prove my point.

Sahara transformation happened over thousands of years. The current cli ..oh never mind ..I’m wasting key strokes.

I own a boat because I love the water. I own a Sea Ray because I have a small child and need to get places fast. As soon as they make an electric boat that will do 23kts I’m in.

Maybe.....but if you really believed the Global "Whatever" (Warming, Cooling, Crisis, Change) why own a boat which burns 1000's of gallons of irreplaceable fossil fuel and is allegedly destroying the atmosphere of the planet?

Electrics only make the owner feel better since they shift the burden of burning of fossil fuels away from their vehicle to a fossil fuel generation plant. I would wager that we would burn far more fossil fuel in the US if we could snap our fingers and make everything electric tomorrow. The generation systems of wind and solar would require a massive fossil fuel or nuclear program to generate enough electricity to support cars homes and boats. Add to that the amount of fossil fuel you would burn to build a new distribution network and the folly of this "science" is quite clear.

Maybe it's just me....but supporting people who have a long history of always being wrong about the planet just doesn't make any sense. Look at the history of dire predictions about the planet......not a single one has ever proved out. On the other hand......the people who saw through the fabrication of weather results have always been proven right.

I still believe each of us should do our part to make this a better place but that requires people to think for themselves and make thoughtful decisions.

The moon can get pretty cold, around -260F. Scientist say that humans changed that when they went there. When the guys walked around on the moon they left footprints. They disturbed the surface exposing some dirt that was darker than the very surface dirt. The darker dirt absorbs more heat...those tracks increased the moons surface temperature 6 degrees they say.

The moon is pretty big, only been 12 people that ever walked on it...there's been about 100 billion folks living on the earth, every one has left their footprint so to speak.

Speaking of footprints...I remember when I was little, playing outside on the lawn, when the sun would go down the grass would get cool and damp and my feet would get cold. I'd go stand on the edge of the street to warm them up. I used to wonder why that was.

Just looked out the window, there's about 8" of global warming on the car. I gotta plow and shovel today.

Woody,
I wonder if you could tell the difference between -260F and -254F degrees on the moon? Does the 6 degrees make it tee-shirt weather?

Don't forget these guys Ollie. They're supposed to be gone along with the arctic ice. I've read the population has actually gotten larger.
