Good day all. Im having my smart craft overheat warning beeping and it shuts down the boat to neutral automatically.
before I was having a water temp sensor fault. So I changed it. Also a water pressure sensor fault. So I changed that too. All faults gone and now I’m getting the overheat fault. Where it puts my boat into neutral.
My temp gauge is reading from 168-178
Which seems pretty normal. Any suggestions on what other faulty sensor I should change to stop the “fake” overheat.
When I’m on the water a quick turn engine off for a second and restart and everything goes back to normal. Within a 40 minute ride I have to do this procedure 1-2 times. any suggestions on where to look or do? Thanks

How old are your manifolds and risers?

There are manifold temp sensors. Those are your culprits. Could be faulty but more likely insufficient water flow to cool of manifolds. Could be impeller or corrosion.

I changed out those temp sensors on the manifolds.
I bought the impeller recently I guess that’s my next project.

Pull your risers and check the condition of your manifolds. As paulswagelock said - the sensors in the manifolds are your culprits. The engine temp you mention is just that, the engine (block and heads). 168 not so bad, 178 to high. Your manifolds are the last to get raw water, which doesn't remove heat well as it is already hot coming from the exchanger. What is you H2O psi at different rpms? If it is high, you are pumping against resistance which is most likely plugged manifolds if they are more than 3-4 years old. If your psi is low, then suspect impellers or possibly not getting enough water to the pump - bravoitis. Inspect your manifolds, if they fail it will most like mean a motor replacement due to hydrolock.
