Knocking on the door to October...can't deny winterizing much longer

Exactly!!! We are currently designing our retirement home to be built just outside of Washburn. Now I understand why she is pushing me to build a 100' x 80' attached storage/shop.
This is no bull. I wanted to tear down my house and build a new one on the same site. We went to just 'look' at boats during the winter and I blew my house money.

Last weekend aboard. She gets stored tomorrow :(

I've been on that bridge... if it was mine I would be delaying taking her out also...

You also gave me 10' itis...

We saw a 52'DB at Racine on the way home. Later I looked a few listings on Yacht World and sent them to my friend who was with me (He currently has a 24' Cobalt) and he told me his wife had already found the listings herself.... I guess they caught the bug also. LOL.

Hooked 'em!

It's bad enough we have to put the boats away for the winter.... But to punish us further with this crap is just wrong.

I'll pick up some sticks but the leaves get blown off the lawn into the woods. Our oak trees had a gazillion acorns this year, like walking on ball bearings. I gave my granddaughter 200 bucks if she'd plant about 1,000 acorns and the deer been eating the rest of them. The deer will probably find some of the ones she planted and eat those to. I had a 5 gal pail full set on the steps, the deer found those and started picking them out of the bucket.

Well this is where she will rest for the winter .I had to run a heater in the bilge a couple days to ensure I would make it without freeze damage till I got the engine and plumbing systems winterized, managed to get the aft tarp up and over yesterday just the little one to go up today and get it all tied off. I live that my tarps are heavy( salvaged rubberized pool cover) they dont blow around at all, but damn they're heavy and stiffer than hell in the cold to stretch out. This year I opted for a rope rig instead of lumber to use for the ridge . Hauled it as tight as possible then pushed my uprights in under for final shaping and tightening.

Winter is here. Bunch of snow last night. Power went out at 2AM, still out. It's deer gun season this week, I'm sure the hunters will like having some snow for the last half of the season.

We're expecting 40-50 mph gusts today. I won't lose power though, because I bought a generator and the universe likes to mess with me.
I'm still on the generator. Initially the outage was only to be about 2hrs. It's a heavy snow, must have took down a bunch of lines. It's starting to get windy now, at least it's not very cold out, 32F right now.

How's your fuel supply? Mine's a portable, but dual fuel. I have 2 tanks of propane and 5 gallons of gas, which again means power won't go out until the gas is old and the tanks are empty.

When I bought a snowblower it didn't snow enough to use it for 2 years

After our surprise heavy snowfall 2 weeks ago I ordered an 80v electric thrower to use on the steps and porches. That should keep snow away until the battery charger dies or I accidentally back over the thing with the Jeep...

I'm running off the 500gal propane tank. Just got filled up last week so I should be good. I've been living here for 40+ years and always put up with the outages. But one time in January when it was real cold I lost power for a couple days. Added a generator after that one, best thing I ever did.

A lot of pics of Erie on FB... Wind was pretty crazy. I drove today from Michigan to Indy at noon and saw two tractor trailers blown over.. Pics are put in bay
