I have a 2000 7.4 mpi bravo 3 outdrive(I think Ol10003 or ll002006). The u joint number I get is 7583t1. Who makes the OEM u joint the one I have says M Spore L16N made by Meritor. This ujoint is too big for the yoke and does not press in. Does to OEM come in a sealed bag with Mercruiser on it because mine was an open bag with made by Meritor on it. Can anyone tell me if it is original or aftermarket.

Meritor is a premium brand and is as good as it gets for truck/automotive parts. I wouldn't worry about it not saying Mercruiser on the packaging. Actually my cynical side says you are probably better of with a branded Meritor part over a no name house brand....

If it does not fit, there must be a mix up with the part numbers. Can you compare the old bearing with the new one? If you can, take yourself off to an old school truck/auto parts place where they have clerks that actually know what they are selling and have them match the old one to a new one.

Although an automotive u-joint will fit, the info out there is that the OEM Merc part has larger dia. trunnions on the cross and will take a larger work load.

Every original equipment part from Mercury has a mercury part number on it. If the Meritor U joint doesn't fit then research the right Merc number

The pkg. would have the part # not the part itself. 75832-1 is what I see.
