Bilge heater for a 340?

How many of you use them over the winter with a shrink wrapped boat? I noticed it's always a little damp in there and would like to keep it dry. The engines are winterized and all. What size will work? 750w? 1000w? Do you plug up the vents? How bad is the electric bill? Thanks

If you keep the boat in the water, they are great for reducing or eliminating condensation. You can also extend your boating season by installing a bilge heater. You will need to cover the vents to keep the heat in.

If you haul the boat for the winter, the boat gets much colder. I don’t know how useful they would be.

I have a 600w Xtreme. I plug up the bilge vent openings. The heater comes on when the bilge air temp gets below 40. I don't think that happened last year. Electric cost is inconsequential. If moisture is your only concern consider some Damprid buckets. Cheaper and easy.
