My new to me boat has a Ray 218 VHF that has seen better days. The radio is flush mounted, looking for a similarly sized replacement. Open to SH, ICOM, Raymarine maybe Garmin. Thanks.

No NMEA 2000, looking for something with GPS built in that will fill that opening if possible (most newer radios are smaller). Looking at ICOM 424g.

ICOM says the 424G is:

Dimensions (W×H×D)
(Projections not included) 180 × 82 × 119.9mm;
7.09 × 3.23 × 4.72 in

"Projections" = faceplate?

We have filler panels that were designed for the Ray215 to allow smaller radios to be mounted. I am not sure about the mounting holes compared to the Ray218 but the outer dimensions are approx 8-3/4 x 3-15/16 and we have the panels pre-cut for may of today's popular models. They are CNC cut for a nice clean look. PM me if interested or get my phone from www.covemarine.com and give me a call.

Kevin- I ordered the Icom 424g. Which should work with the existing cutout. If not I will be in touch.

Sean:

If you get my number from our website (www.covemarine.com) you can give me a call or you can send me a PM on CSR with your phone number or fill out this form (https://www.covemarine.com/request/) and I will call you (let me know the best times). Do you know what VHF you are looking to install to replace the Ray215?
