Planning a trip to the Bahamas. Thinking about needing a water system. Any ideas. Kind of systems or if I needed water system at all.

Water system? Do you mean water maker?

That's it. We are thinking of maybe a 4/6 week stay at various islands. Been told that fresh water is as costly as fuel. I've got a 150 gal water tank but a friend of mine thought a water maker would be a must have pice of equipment. I'm not so sure

We visited the Bahamas this past spring, first time there with a boat so we don’t know as much about it as a lot here do but we found water to be a non issue with just a little research.
We went to Bimini, Berrys, Exumas, Eleuthera, and Abacos. Spent just short of two months and maybe spent $300, $400 at the most on water. That included washing the boat after crossings.
Check the marina guides and active captain for prices. They range from free (not many) to about .75/gal. Some are flat rate like $5/day, $20/week etc.
Some have free wash water and charge for potable. I would say the average we paid would be about .40/gal.
We did change our consumption habits for the most part, using marina showers a lot which we never do, and when staying on the hook or a mooring ball at the Exuma Park we would jump in the water and then a quick rinse on the swim platform. Navy showers on the boat, etc.
Keep in mind also that water makers desalinate not purify. You shouldn’t use them in marinas and harbors, so you are limited to filling your tank while underway or out on the hook in clean water.
Unless you are going to travel there often and spend a great deal of time out on the hook, it’s not worth the cost and maintenance of a water maker imo.

edit: I should have added it was just the 2 of us except for one week our daughter visited. Size of the crew matters
