What were ya looking at and where?I was up your way today looking at a boat. It was just about a perfect day.
www.stcroixyachtclub.comSo your YC owns the beach? Nice idea. Some clubs out here have "out stations" that are a couple of hours cruise from their docks. Gives members a place to hang for a weekend.
Hmmmm, let's see. If I cruised the boat down the coast, went through the Panama Canal, across the Gulf of Mexico, up the Mississippi and assorted other rivers to reach Lake Michigan then got to your neck of the woods, I wonder how long it would take me to get to that next annual bash?www.stcroixyachtclub.com
We have two private beaches and each one has fire pits, community grill, picnic tables and enough shore power for over 100 boats. We throw a huge party on each beach once a year, catered food, live bands, etc.

It sure sounds like fun!
So, let me get this straight. I'm headed north so if I turn right I'm headed east? Got it?
So, when is the big shindig?
Are you calling me raff riff, I mean raft rough, I mean...oh shit nevermind. Are you making fun of me 'cause I grew up in Sagnasty, MI, also known as Saginaw?
Yessssss? We're waiting for the photos.I flew up and looked at a boat at Sunnyside Marina in Stillwater MN about 2 months ago, beautiful area.

Two things I noticed quickly was many of the boats had built on ladders on the bows, and bow bottom paint missing. Found out it was because of a sandy beach everyone went to, with a bunch of shore power stations......and I thought how cool is that? I was initially really surprised to hear people beached 35' - 70' boats. Good stuff and a pretty area, at least for a couple of months of the year.
It ended up not doing well in it's survey, notable issue with a longitudinal stringer I didn't want to deal with - ended up buying a pristine example off of Lake St. Clair in MI. It's a beautiful.....Meridian though, so figured I'd skip all off the happy hoopla on this site - but a fantastic boat indeed. We "downsized" 7 feet - yet have a ton of more room, and much more user friendly for my wife.Yessssss? We're waiting for the photos.
