In my new to me 320, apparently the prior owners didn't watch TV. It has a radar dome right where the powered TV antennae would be. I think they added a radar unit and didn't replace or rehome the glomex. I didn't think it had anything until I found the power unit under the TV in a cabinet.
Soooo....Anyone know if there is a better choice than the glomex...possibly using the power head from existing but maybe with a better and more powerful top unit?

Glomex is a top quality unit. You probably need to replace it as the digital antennas work better then the old analog ones but Glomex is great stuff.

The new Glomex antennas have auto gain control so they are easy to use and work great. The marina broke our 3 year old one during spring launch and replaced it with a new one. BIGGGGGG IMPROVEMENT! No 12v breaker or gain control knob to remember, just turn on tv!

So you just leave the controller on max?

My older Glomex gets digital channels on the modern TV’s on my boat.
I don’t use it because I have DirectTV, but I have tried it.
Not sure if the age of the antenna makes a difference. I think the ability to receive the digital signals is in the TV and not the antenna.
The automatic gain amplifier would be a nice addition though.

True..its the TV that matters with the digital.

What you found is likely antenna amplifier. If that is older model then it was designed for analog tv and it may not help or even prevent from receiving digital tv. New glomax antenna wired directly to tv should be sufficient to get few channels, depends on your location

no, i dont even turn the breaker on that runs it. If I turn it on I lose all signal on the TV. Our old antenna(3 hear old digital Glomex) required the amplifier to get reception. Wierd I know but I cant explain it. Same Flat panel digital TV.

I leave my gain on wide open all the time. Depends on how good your signal is. Too much gain is as bad as not enough. All depends on signal strength.

Thanks....since I will have to buy an antennae I might try an Amazon prime thru a stick ot something similar. I don't have nearby Wifi but do get decent cell service.
