once a week I work 2-10pm. Took my kids on the dinghy to our yacht club beach. We were literally the only ones there, weather was perfect...love summers in MN!

I was up your way today looking at a boat. It was just about a perfect day.

340 sea ray in Prescott. Now looking for surveyor and mechanic.

So your YC owns the beach? Nice idea. Some clubs out here have "out stations" that are a couple of hours cruise from their docks. Gives members a place to hang for a weekend.

We have two private beaches and each one has fire pits, community grill, picnic tables and enough shore power for over 100 boats. We throw a huge party on each beach once a year, catered food, live bands, etc.

Hmmmm, let's see. If I cruised the boat down the coast, went through the Panama Canal, across the Gulf of Mexico, up the Mississippi and assorted other rivers to reach Lake Michigan then got to your neck of the woods, I wonder how long it would take me to get to that next annual bash? :)

It sure sounds like fun!

Straight up the Mississippi, no need to hit the big lakes. When you get to Prescott WI, turn right.

Are you calling me raff riff, I mean raft rough, I mean...oh shit nevermind. Are you making fun of me 'cause I grew up in Sagnasty, MI, also known as Saginaw?

Not at all. We’re all MINNESOTA NICE here. I’ve actually been to that part of MI, Midland area. Worked for a company that installed water tower and pump controls. Other companies did the treatment of the water. Was in WA while in the NAVY, weekend only. The only boat I was on was smaller than your current rig.

Midland is only about 15 miles from Sagnasty, but safety-wise that's a HUGE 15 miles. I don't know if it's changed since then, but Sagnasty had a horrible health problem involving lead poisoning. Seems when lead travels above 800 feet per second it turns deadly when it enters a body. Last I heard the Sagnasty authorities had not found a solution to the problem.

Go figure.

I flew up and looked at a boat at Sunnyside Marina in Stillwater MN about 2 months ago, beautiful area.

Two things I noticed quickly was many of the boats had built on ladders on the bows, and bow bottom paint missing. Found out it was because of a sandy beach everyone went to, with a bunch of shore power stations......and I thought how cool is that? I was initially really surprised to hear people beached 35' - 70' boats. Good stuff and a pretty area, at least for a couple of months of the year.

YUP! We all beach our boats around here. Lots of people add extra strips of fiberglass to the area that hits the beach. Its a great place to boat...when its not flooded :(

Yessssss? We're waiting for the photos.
It ended up not doing well in it's survey, notable issue with a longitudinal stringer I didn't want to deal with - ended up buying a pristine example off of Lake St. Clair in MI. It's a beautiful.....Meridian though, so figured I'd skip all off the happy hoopla on this site - but a fantastic boat indeed. We "downsized" 7 feet - yet have a ton of more room, and much more user friendly for my wife.

We have however been using our 130 Sport a lot....this is a great time of the year for her as our lake has emptied of people - with the exception of us true boaters.
