I was replacing the engine pencil zincs on the heat exchange and aftercoolers and transmission coolers on my Cummins qsc 500 engine. I managed to remove and replace the transmission cooler on the starboard motor but on the port motor the transmission cooler is buried way in the back and it's tough to get a socket on it or even a long breaker bar on it. Any tricks or ideas on how I can get to remove those zinc pencils from that transmission cooler? Also any ideas on where I can get replacement o rings that go on the sides of the aftercoolers and heat exchange?

SB Marine sells a complete Heat Exchanger service kit. It seems pricey but you know they will fit.
I just changed my zincs and found best to access the aft port zinc from just over the front of the drive. In the past I reached all the way from the front of the engine but paid for it with huge doses of Motrin for a week!

Where are the trans coolers located? I just ordered the zinc kit for the QSC 500 from Boatzincs.com. the kit comes with 2 for the aftercooler, 2 for the heat exchanger and 2 for the trans cooler.
