It seems a few years ago I recall someone posting about a blower that was a lot quieter than the stock.
Anyone do this and/or remember what the details were?

Thanks....

They are called "squirrel cage" blowers. Make sure you buy a marine ignition protected one.

I switched to the Attwoods and now with the Genny running in the cockpit it is a lot quieter than the Rules they replaced.

I also switched to the Jabsco Continuous Duty 4" squirrel-cage blowers and now can hardly hear them plus they move more air than the inline blowers.

BUT you must increase the circuit breaker/fuse size. Mine originally had 6 amp breakers and had to be increased to the recommended 15amps. Blowers pull about 8 amps when running vs 4 of the originals. Wire gauge on my boat was 14GA which is more than adequate. YMMV.

Correct, I increased the breaker size when I installed the Jabsco blowers.

Sounds like something I want to do...Where did you find a source for the breakers? And are they easy to change out?

I was all set to install these blowers but reconsidered after doing the wire size calculation. Specs say they draw 11 amps.
Puts them close to or exceeding the stock 14ga wire with a 15 or 20' total run. I wasn't comfortable cutting it that close. If they actually draw only 8 amps you would be good with just the breaker upgrade. They are super quiet and powerful.
