Replacing NS100

I pulled my C80 out for repairs and I’d like to replace the NS100 VHF while the console is open.

I assume it is a “black box” radio with the guts hidden under / behind the console? I see something behind and to the right of the steering column.

Any tricks or advise on what to avoid?

Thanks -

Replaced NS100 with Icom M400BB earlier this year. Pretty straight forward to install and have been pleased with the radio so far.
Purchased from BOEmarine.com.

I did the same a few years back. M400BB is a good radio. Didn’t use the NS100 speaker; just left it in place.

Thanks again for everyone’s feedback. What a great resource; everyone has been great. As a newer boat owner I really appreciate the feedback.

I bought the M400BB and their external speaker to fill the hole left by the NS100.

How is the speaker sound quality?
Does it play all audio or is it just for the paging?
Do you know the part number?
