Anyone installed windlass foot switches?

Interested in doing this job myself. I think it will be beneficial to me when going out alone, since I cant see when the windlass will stop upon retrieval.Looks like the PO had problems and bent the anchor carrier and caused lose screws.
 
Should be a piece of cake. Id see the importance of making sure your placement of the switch holes doesn't damage anything under the deck. Wiring the solenoids should be really straight forward as well. The 44 DB came standard with the foot switches. once you cut the holes seal the area well and the switches just screw into the deck.

It is easy job. You have two options: right way or the way searay doing it. Right way is to wire foot switches to control solenoid. Searay wires them directly to windlass motor - this is the reason they often fail. Foot switches are rated 20A while windlass requires usually 60A+. Only advantage doing that way - you can use windlass using foot switches when control solenoid fails.
