Unsolved Mystery Last Night on the Boat

You’re so lucky you still have upholstery intact. I hate those little bastards
They told me this morning he chewed up one of the covers of the electronics... It is a pretty crappy feeling sitting at home at 4:00 in the morning and you cant do anything about it.
I am 125' from shore up a dock and no food what so ever...not sure what the attraction is. Marina is going to set a trap. I will be down there tonight to see if anything else is screwed up and see where this thing pissed and shit

Oh, those little buggahs can be VERY inquisitive. I'd be willing to bet that your boat isn't the only one he visited. He's probably making his rounds - hoping from one boat to another to see who's got the best spread. Sort of like that "one guy" in a big raft-up that keeps hoping from boat to boat to boat... "Hey, you got any beer?"

I must say, if I'm being completely honest, I did enjoy reading through this thread! I sure hope he didn't leave any little "presents" for you, though...

Some security cameras have the ability to speak through them You might wanna switch your set up to that, could’ve scared him off by yelling at him through the cameras

But a remote-controlled paintball gun would be SO much more fun! But, I suppose, if you want to go the "logical" route... ;)

A friend of mine had one come through an open hatch he had left open while away. The raccoon initially couldn't get out and destroyed the interior not to mention the raccoon poop. Eventually the raccoon was able to climb out. What a mess.

Cute little fellas, but when it comes to your house, boats, cars, you cannot have any compassion for those things. You are very lucky all you have is a chewed up plastic cover - he could literally destroy the cockpit of your boat. You have to get rid of him!

He is stepping on the horn button... Talk about drawing attention to yourself

Boy, that didn't seem to phase him one bit!

After they live trap him, he needs to walk the plank or he'll be back.

They said they would take him to a field somewhere.... I thought the same thing ..why wouldnt he come back. This is two nights now and there is nothing in the boat

LOL, he's probably looking out the window trying to figure out what idiot is blowing his horn at this hour. Good luck getting rid of him, glad the mystery is at least solved now.

I hate those things.
You are extremely lucky that they didn’t destroy the whole cockpit.
I live a chip shot away from Bethpage Golf Course. There are 5 courses there, including Bethpage Black. It’s a huge state park and there are thousands of them in there.
They’re a constant problem for us. Tearing up garbage, living under our deck, killing outdoor cats and about 15 years ago one got in my attic through a vent fan and had 3 babies up there. It cost my homeowners insurance company a bunch of money to fix the roof, fan, some AC ductwork and replace all the insulation up there.
Over the years I’ve found a couple dead in my backyard. They looked like they had suffered injuries in battle.
A neighbor had to have a big old tree removed because they were living up in it and screaming while they fought all night long.

Those things are smart, he's seen the camera and he's just f'ing with you.

Raccoons are good swimmers...

Need a better plan for permanent removal of this rodent...

I always get a laugh out of this plan and that the softee public thinks it humane. Lets humanize it for a moment, we live trap a human, then just drop him off with nothing in NYC, because humans love it there. No home or shelter, no food, no water, in a strange place, and that is better than just ending it...

Get some mothballs and put them on your back deck. Since the little bastards are nocturnal, adding a motion activated light may scare them away.

No need to hypothesize MM....
