2002 versus 2004 340 & what to check for on the 2004 340

In my endless, painful, frustrating search for the next boat, I have found a 2004 Sea Ray 340 I will be looking at this weekend. I have never been on one. I have been on a 2000 - 2002.

I love the cabin, especially the starboard couch. I like that it's flush to the floor, and not raised like it is on the 2000 - 2002. I do not want a raised couch/settee. Not sure why manufacturers did that pre early 2000s. I also prefer the settee/couch versus a dinette where the benches face each other.

I am not a fan of the 3 helm/cockpit chairs though, and prefer a bench.

I'm curious to hear what others think about the 3 chair seating, the cabin differences, etc. I'd also like to hear the "things to make sure you check out" while I am inspecting the boat.

Also, I am 6'3"; will I fit in the aft cabin for sleeping? Forward berth?

Absolutely hate the 3 seats in the helm/ of the 2004 cockpit. That ruins the whole boat for me. Have not been in the salon to have a comment on that part

we don't have any issues with the 3 seat helm cockpit layout...At 6'3" you will probably not be able to stretch out fully in the aft/mid cabin...v-berth probably ok. It's a shame you are not closer as we are considering putting ours on the market....
