Great....an $18 million dollar houseboat.

Gee I wonder if Brunswick feels bad that they missed that market.......o_O

I thought it was a new building at the dock. Looks like concrete but as you get closer ya can see its made of stainless steel. Uhgly as shit but wow. What a layout inside

Inside pictures? I didn't see those because I couldn't get past the outside ugliness. I don't care HOW freaking beautiful the inside is. The outside ugly kills it.

Wonder where they put it during a hurricane. But it's only 18 million.

While not attractive in a boating sense, I think it's a pretty cool concept be it for personal use, party barge, bar, etc etc. The numbers associated were pretty impressive, in addition to the costs. Seems like it would be cool to have a mansion off of any nice beach - and change to other beaches when you get bored.

It was just off the coast of Ft DeSoto on 9/14, in maybe 4 feet of water, we took a picture, but it’s just too far away. The 4 posts actually move and can lift the boat out of the water. They might use those during a hurricane, but who knows. It’s steel, so I’m guessing it will hold up pretty well.

If you read the description, it has hydraulic spuds that can potentially lift the boat 15' out of the water. 3 foot draft, 18' spud travel. Seems like they have made a few versions, the one on this thread looks different then what they advertise on the website.

The engine room is impressive. A bit of engineering went into the design for sure. Outside it looks like shit, but what it took to build it is way cool.

John,

It is too early for Brunswick to chase that market.....they are usually 5 years behind the new design curve.......they should have the shoe-box yacht ready from one of their pontoon factories by 2025.

Given the coastal waters through the Keys up the west coast of FL - I think the concept would be cool to be on one for a few days. So much of the water is 10ft or less, just stop and drop the spuds.

Doesn't really seem like boating though - at least to me. A really expensive floating condo.

It looks better sitting up in the air on its spuds than it does going through the water. If I met that my first thought would be that it is some kind of work boat or dredge.

I don't believe a houseboat like that will sell for $18M to anyone other than Adam Neumann (We Work CEO). Consider you could buy several ocean front condos and a 100' yacht for that money and it makes you wonder who thought this was a good idea.

Including the engine room it has 9,000 sq ft of advertised space (40' beam 84' length) in total on three levels. Part of their thinking is that it could serve as a floating bar or restaurant. I have friends in the restaurant business that would have heart attacks trying to cover $2M in rent a year.

I wish them luck but my guess is that at that price......they will only build one and their funding will disappear. It may have stood a chance in the <$1M range.
