My AC unit is freezing up. The filter is clean. I had the refrigerant checked and it was a little low so we brought it up to full. It is still freezing up. There is good water flow. What are the next things to check?

Make sure your fan works and the ducts/vents are clear.

i know you said good water flow, just making sure you cleaned the strainer...

I would think its one of these
Lack of water flow
lack of air flow
low on freon

good luck!

One of my units does this when I have the temperature set below 68 AND there is something in the way of the air inlet (my salon air returns are under the couch where my wife stores way too much stuff). The unit is supposed to go into defrost mode periodically to prevent this but it’s either not on long enough or the blockage is too significant. Looking under the couch and clearing the area fixed the problem. Check for airflow obstructions.

If you aren't getting enough air flow over the coil such as to slow fan speed , something blocking the return grill, or dirt in the fins can cause the unit to freeze up

Thanks for the responses. I will check to make sure their is sufficient airflow and also that the strainer is clean.

I've had this happen on a hot humid day when the tstst is set too low and the cabin door is open
