Went in earlier this year than I ever have, which was nice, but the lake level and conditions were pretty bad all the way through the end of June.

Started the season fishing off of some friends boats. First outing was 4/28. There was still ice on the lake. Fishing was good though. Boated close to 50. Kept one for myself.

Finally got my dash setup exactly how I wanted it. Took some money, but worth every penny.

First really decent day out there

More fishing, on an absolutely perfect '92 Tiara 3600

Marina did a Catalina Wine Mixer, complete with helicopter rides. That was pretty cool

Bought a boat for my boat. It's only a 9', so it's seriously over-powered. When it does actually get on plane after doing wheelies for days, it's downright scary.

My last outing of the season. Wife was home sick, so I stayed over on the boat Saturday. Conditions were outstanding. Went about 10 miles out, powered down, and listened to music. Closest blip on the radar was over 8 miles away. That was pretty cool.

That night, was running around our harbor, and ran across this killer Pachanga.

And that's it for the 2019 season. It was way too short.

When I saw your dash pictures earlier I was going to ask if you were a salmon fisherman. Your tracks on your chart showed the back and forth trolling pattern off the mouth of the river.

I used to keep a boat in the water at home in Oakville (west of Toronto) and did a lot of Lake Ontario salmon fishing. I miss the steady action of the big screamer Kings. Its a world class salmon fishery that not a lot of people know about.

I am up on Georgian Bay, Lake Huron now and still fish salmon a lot. The fish are fewer and smaller (my biggest this year was 18lbs. Average is about 12 to 15), but they are nicer eating than the Lake O ones. And the boating is much nicer up there.

I get hauled and blocked next week.

So, I definitely wouldn't call myself any sort of fisherman, but the other 4 permanent boats on our dock are, with two of them being charter captains. I've gotten to be pretty good friends with most, so I started going out fun fishing and derby with them over the past couple of years. I don't fish off of mine at all.

Apparently the salmon have gotten a bit smaller, with the fall LOC derby winner being about 34#. Biggest I've caught is a 26. Whole bunch of fun though.

And yep, same. I should be out of the water around the same time. I tend to take some time away from my shop during October to haul and block boats with my marina owner. It's a learning experience

So that doesn’t explain the back and forth in front of the harbour then. My plotter gets filled with trolling tracks form the same haunts. If you could wear a hole in a lake I would have done it by now.

Great pics and looks like a great season! Love the new dash.

thanks for sharing!

Oh yeah, that. We go out for short jaunts all the time. I live ten minutes away, so we're up there constantly. Lots of sunset cruises after work and such.

Gotta laugh about the 15hp on the 9 foot dink. I've got the same set on my 9' dink only it's a Merc.
Crazy fast, hence, her name is SK8R. I peeled the 1 off of the engine cover to keep the coasties off my back.
That's brilliant! And yeah, it's from wheelies to 25mph almost instantly.

Great writeup and photos, but it doesn't sound like you had any fun at all this summer! Just Kidding, of course.

Your “last cruise” must have been this past weekend? Lake was unbelievable both Friday and Saturday.

Yessir. Considered a quick Toronto trip, but didn't get out until early afternoon Saturday

We did Toronto a few weeks ago and didn’t get quite as far as Wilson but fueled up in Olcott then shot across. I’d never been to your end of the lake by boat, amazing how close Toronto really is from there.

I’d be tempted to make day trips on nice days.

There are occasions that we'll jump on one of our boats and go across for lunch.

Nice cruising grounds! Thanks for posting. And nice setup on the helm.

Much appreciated.
