As an ex sailor of 30 yrs, I can tell you it drives me nuts as well. We always made sure our halyards were tied off. What becomes a problem is if the owners have a sail loft service remove the sails - they could probably care less how they leave the halyards. You should ask the marina operator if they can tie them back.I'm in a marina surrounded by sailboats while I wait for haulout. I don't mind the wind noises howling through the rigging but all that shit slapping, banging, and clanging could drive a guy nuts.
