Going To Go Get My Trailer

If you cross at Port Huron to Niagara falls is 4 hours. The shorter distance to Port Clinton from there is crossing over to Buffalo and take 90 thru Erie and Cleveland.... You can call yourself an Erie Looper after that trip :)
Thanks for that info.
That's the way I was thinking of going, glad to hear it confirmed fromnpeople that know.

How wide is the trailer?

A 310 with an arch is 10’ wide (over width) and will be over 14’ tall if the trailer fenders are under the hull. If the
“Keel” is less than a foot from the road surface, you’ll be OK on height but the wheels/fenders would have to be outside the hull making the trailer wider than the boat.

Unless otherwise specified, the trailer will still have a 102” track. The fenders do fit under the chines and the keel can still be approx 10-12” off the road surface. The 2007-2009 310 (2010+ 330) is indeed a 10’ 6” beam—but only at it very widest point midship, up at the gunwales.

Got an email a few minutes ago, it's done.

Hi stephenm27
I'm looking for a tow vehicle for my 330 dancer, what are you towing with? Is that a F250 or 350? Diesel or gas?
How much does your boat weigh?
Thanks!

It's a 2018 6.7L F-250 (diesel).

Boat weighs about 14400. Trailer rated at 18000. EoH brakes on all 3 axles. Truck has no problem with it--though there's not mistaking it's back there. Torque @ 945 ft/lbs makes a huge difference.

I guess I’m missing something here

I think he’s only headed to pickup the trailer from the manufacturer and tow it back home (sans boat—thus no permits/placards required for this trip).

Long-term, given the cost of a trailer for our boats, I assume he’s aware of his home state’s towing regulations and will acquire whatever permits are necessary there once he returns.

I’ll let him chime in and clarify...

Stephenm27 is 100% correct.
I'm going to pick up the trailer only, my boat is a couple of miles from home.
I want this trailer to tow to a few spots I want to boat in, mainly in the state I live in.
I also want to be able to bring it home for certain things, mainly in the winter.
I know I have to have a permit to haul it.
A fellow CSR member, and friend trailers his oversized boat and will steer me to the site for the info.
As far as brakes, it's electric drum on all three axles.
Disc would be nice, but I had to draw the line somewhere as far as price.
Drum brakes will be fine for what I want it for.

Similarly, we are just a few miles from our local lake where we mostly boat...it lives on the trailer indoors at home. Having the ability to bring the boat home is a big win for off-season maintenance/cleaning/etc.

Your new trailer looks great. Please post some pics once you get to put the boat on it. There's not many of us 310's around that "float" on radials every now and again...
