410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

The Big Pig draws this exact kind of conversations around the docks. Everyone wants to hate the name but can’t cant resist talking about it or poking fun. It’s actually a great conversation starter and I don’t mind the ribbing I take over it. I’m new to the marina but everyone already knows the Big Pig.:). That being said we are changing the name this winter.

Nice ride!! I’m in the process of picking up a 2002 410 EC, actually having the survey tomorrow. My maiden voyage will be bout 158 miles, will be running on 8.1 Mercruisers.. love the boat, best of luck!!!
Congrats and good luck on the survey. Your going to love that boat.

Next year you’ll be the “boat formerly known as big pig”!

Awesome boat! I had a name we didnt like and changed to something that meant something to us. Worth a couple bottles of good champagne and a party!

I used Single Barrel Jack Daniels for mine............

Come on guys...this name is FAR better than the guy earlier in the year that intentionally picked Wet Dreams for his 40'+ Sea Ray. I'd take Big Pig over Wet Dreams any day, twice on Sundays. :)

Wet Dreams seems to be fairly common around here. I’ve noticed a few of them.
Worst one I know of is “Dirty Oar”. A friend of mine has that on his Proline. Even worse, his wife is in to fishing as much, or more, than he is.
He’s one funny guy, but I’m surprised his wife didn’t kill him over that name.

That looks like a 2001 model year as it has the the newer badging and chrome latches in the cockpit. I'm also surprised you have 3116s and not 3126s...
Yeh, thankfully there was a previous owner that did all of those updates and then some. The 3116’s have been cared for and run rock solid.

Where I boat, a 380 is about as big as they get, so my buddy calls mine the big pig.... just sent him a pic of yours, he loves it, has a nice ring to it..... "how's the big pig running today"

Nice boat, I will be changing my sink, faucet and handles over in the winter

Added some bling to the bow yesterday. Removed the cheap Nav lights replaced them with stainless led lights. Removes broken windlass switch covers. Replaced with stainless steel (thanks to the member on this site that hooked me up). Removed broken old anchor locker latch. Replaced it with a stainless one from a 2003 340 Sundancer. Installed flexible solar panels negating the use of the generator unless I need blender or hot water

Hey, slow down, you are making us other owners look bad :D

Wow, solar power on canvas. Who would have known. Curious, what kind of output do you get from those panels? For example, will it keep up with my wife who thinks she still at an 80's disco, play the music loud enough to make the battery amp gauges dance? Frig? etc..

Damn that looks good!!!

Love the solar panels. Nice touch!

I converted to all led and I have a three year old Vitrifrigo fridge plus underwater lights and an illuminated boat name. It keeps up. It’s a 200 watt system. The controller should tell me amps but the feature is not working. Sorry

Wow, that sounds like a good amount of power. Did you do the install yourself? I guess it is time for me to get educated on solar power for boats. Can you share the system you installed, to save me the 100’s of hours and countless years researching to find the “bestest” solar power system. LED name looks great!

Does anyone know the route the starboard light wires take? I need to trace an intermittent problem that plagues the starboard only running light. I don’t want to randomly pull panels

Yes I installed/sewed it up myself. I bought the two flexible panels on amazon. The company was windy nation. They are 100 watts each. The controller and cables were on eBay. Total cost of system without sunbrella materials, about $250. There are more expensive options but I’m not sure the juice is worth the squeeze.

You will also need the wire from the panels to the controller. The panel end has a special connector. I did not sew the panels directly to the top. If you zoom in on the photo you will see. I put self adhering Velcro loop around the perimeter of the upper side of the panels. I sewed strips to the top that had sewed on Velcro pile to the bottom side. The panel lays on the top and the strips Velcro to it around the perimeter. Wind wil not get under it this way. There are snaps in each corner for good measure. But yes, load industrial machine will www thru the panels.
