Just bought my New boat (1999) Sea Ray 310 Sundancer. Surveyor said I need to fill the trim tab fluid. I see where the reservoir is, but I am not sure where to fill the fluid. Looks like a very difficult spot to get to. Attached is a picture. Where do I fil the fluid?

Remove that lexan cover to access the fill plug.

Be sure you're checking the level with the tabs fully retracted.

Difficult to get to? Welcome to boat maintenance 101. But relatively speaking, this is at the easier range of the scale.

I believe the rubber plug is in the corner of box under the plastic cover. When filling be sure they are in the retracted position to get a proper level.

Looking down on it from above after removing the lexan cover, it’ll be at the lower left corner. A small plug atop a short standpipe about 3/8” diameter.

Need a tiny funnel or a steady hand.

Thanks for the pointers. Looks like I'll have to wedge myself in there and use a funnel as suggested. Just wanted to make sure that was the right place to fill before I climbed in.

Or a turkey blaster from the local dollar store.

A small hand pump with a small tube also works well. A teenager who can fit back there is a good option as well.

Guys, I found that a clear squeeze bottle that you would use for sauces works great. Think clear ketchup squeeze bottle. You can find them at a grocery store or even target or walmart. I see them online at party city for $3.00 for a two pack.

This is exactly what i used this weekend. Worked like a charm. It was very low, took almost 2 of those ketchup squeeze bottles. A turkey baster would have taken multiple fills and i had just enough clearance to tip the bottle upwards.

Getting cover off was a bear for me cuz the transom shower water lines are on top of it. I cut the cover so I could access the plug next time without taking off cover.

You can also buy trim oil with a squirt top(kinda like drive oil) put a small hose over it and squirt right into reservoir.

How does the cover come off the trim tab module? I took of the four screws in front, but the cover still was not loose.

Wrong screws. There's a single, little screw on top.
