What was your initial offer?$55,000.
Survey valued at "below average" at about $50,000.
Lots of variables, Are you going to have to pay for transport on the one you are looking at, will you have to pay more on the next one. ( further away ) I think you are entitled to something off, but a $1000. or 2 max. I think you will find most 340s will have some moisture in the top deck and platform. So should I have absorbed the issues or negotiated an adjustment?
Not in my book!!!So $10,000 worth of little things is insignificant?
I'm with Mark, I talked mine down 20K...….Not in my book!!!

And my boat was a freshwater 300 HR boat, got the Allison SS2000 from the same area in Tennessee, damn good place to buy boats unlike my salt water stateI'm with Mark, I talked mine down 20K...….
Thanks. That was a very helpful reply and put things in a different perspective. Not on a 55k boat!
55k not spent on below average boat, 10k saved not dealing with the obvious things wrong with said below average boat, 5k saved on not paying for winterization, storage, shrink-wrap, oil changes, transmission fluid changes, incidentals and your up to 70k you saved by not buying a below average boat.
Who knows how much more you saved in things that weren’t immediately apparent in that below average boat.
If you can swing to 70k you can probably find a real nice boat.
You did the right thing!
This is one of those situations we’re spending the money on a survey really laid off.
You have listed a couple of trivial things. An easy afternoon at home to fix. This is an old boat. Those results would have made me quite happy, IF, the price was right to begin with.So $10,000 worth of little things is insignificant?
I agree some stuff was minor. But it all adds up. At that's my issue, the shear amount of "little" things. I am sure most boats don't have that list. I know my 40 year old boat won't. Going to be more than an afternoon to take care of along with several "oh crap" trips to west marine. The price was good but not that good. It didn't account for all the issues. As other have said, doing the numbers I could put the money into a well maintained one and be ahead. The seller's failure to consider adjustments cost him a sale. You have listed a couple of trivial things. An easy afternoon at home to fix. This is an old boat.
