Hello, just be the proud owner of a 500da from 1994.
I have Some troubles with my fueltank sensors, port tank fluctuede to much and i want to check/clean the sensors but I cant get to the sensors.
Do I Miss something before I have to remove the carpet?

Under de round couch I found the inlets of the Thank but nowhere I look I find Some acces to the sensors witch are probably on the other side of the tanks.

Thanks for effort

I know we are different models but just to give some idea where I found mine... Starboard access is in the aft stateroom storage cubby the panel unscrews gives you access, the port access I believe is in the floor of the storage cabinet to the left of the salon entrance door. Starboard side I have replaced the sending unit and the port side is my best guess as I have not opened that up yet.

Thanks for the replay. I am afraid I have bad luck. I read the part manual and see on the drawing the location and aprox size. The tanks end are under the carpet.

Yes, I had that part manual already. Thanks anyway.
For now I leave the carpet but If anyone has a 500da and already found out the exact location I hope you Will share it with me.

They are under the carpet in the salon area. The carpet is not glued on ours, but uses standard carpet tack strips around the edge. Once the carpet is out of the way you will see the 3 access panels

Thanks for that information. I looked to the carpet and doesnt matter Wich side I start, its gonna be a uge job.
Next week I am going to fill one tank, messure everything and work from there.

Gauge was broken and I messure all tanks somewhere around 104-118 ohm.
New gauge pointed 3/4 full. I thought they were around 1/4 full.
Some people say the closer by 0 ohm the more full is the tank, others say backwards....

I’ve just been going though this with our Sabre trying to calibrate our tanks. First there are two types of resistance senders. The so called US version uses a range of 240 to 33 ohms, the European version uses 10 to 180, Empty to Full.

If you have the euro spec sensor 118 would yield 69%. (118/170 = 0.694). Keep in mind that Calc only is accurate if each unit of vertical contains the same volume. Vertical cylinder like a barrel,or cube etc. so if you have a tank that was shaped like a funnel, or wedge, one cm of height at the top would have a different volume than lower in the tank.

You might be better served to put flow sensors in and just keep track of your burn rates.

I think the usa gauge is needed. When i tank full I messure and then I know for sure. Thanks for reply
