Official (1998-2002) 310 Sundancer Thread

FYI, I requested acceptance into this group over 2 weeks ago. Still shows that mine is "pending". Makes me wonder if there is any activity in this group at all.

Yup! Same here.

I just "Canceled" my request to join and reentered it. Maybe it will send another message to the moderator. Maybe it'll piss him/her off!!!

If I get any response I'll let you know.

It's a great page. I was on it earlier today. Todd(moderator and page founder) is always welcoming new members on it. Lots of good info there. He's a member here to. His name is Todd Olason.

@Nehalenia @Nehalenia where are you?

Well that didn't work. Some forums let you tag people with the @ to get their attention.

I just submitted my request also. I think it's a great idea.

Do you know if there is a "search" option on this forum for Member Name - Todd Olason?

I just tried a "By Member" using "Todd Olason." It came back "No Member Found." Also by Nehalenia and received "Club Sea Ray - Error The following members could not be found: Nehalenia"

I looked at a 2000.310.yestereday with v drives. Current owner removed the generator when he was having issues with it. He never reinstalled it because he realize he really never used it. The added room sure was nice to see.

I've looked at four of these now, what I missed was how close the mufflers are to the front of the engine, how do you get to the raw water pumps and the belts?

My mufflers are the water lift variety and off to the side so no access issue for belts. Starboard water pump is somewhat accessible, Port is much harder and it helps to remove first section of exhaust. Its still a job done mostly by feel.

I replaced both pumps when we purchased our 310 last year. The mechanic disassembled both exhaust hose assemblies for access.

I am changed one pair of duckbill valves. I replaced the exit ones on the port side of the pump. Where is the other pair? Are they in the fixed pipe on the starboard side of the pump that goes into the tank?

Can Someone please confirm that the cockpit deck layout on the 2002 310 is the same as the 2000? I have a line on a foam decking kit, and the manufacturer (Orthodek) has templates for the 2000.

My Starboard fuel tank indicator is inoperative (needle stuck to the left, beyond E-Emplty). Any advice what to check or to do before replacing the fuel tank level meter (sending unit)? Thanks in advance!

i don't think it is.
2001-02 is same
2000 has a different engine hatch layout.
Has manual lift hatches not the single electric hatch like the 01-02

Take the connector off the sending unit and ground it with the ignition on.
The gauge will pin all the way to full if its good.
That would mean the sender is bad.
If it doesn't go to full the gauge is bad or the wiring to the gauge has an issue.

Thanks for the response. Looking at their pattern, I think you're right.

Thanks! Any idea where to purchase a sending unit, just in case?

You can buy online or a good marine store
Measure the height of the tank they come in different sizes.
Thanks a lot! I thought there was a specific type for the 310 SD! I googled it with the p/n from the Parts Manual but couldn’t find anything!
