Stuart Brown published a series of photos on Fox today he took that captured the tragedy allegedly last year. What's crazy when you see the photos is the boat did a 360 by itself. I can't tell if the people in the water were on the boat. Allegedly, there were 6 people on board the Waterdog.

"A tragic boating accident in Florida's Jupiter Inlet shows the dangers of the sea. Thomas Henry, 61, captain of the Waterdog, was caught on film Sept. 3 as waves smash his boat as it crosses a sandbar and knocks the seasoned boat captain around on deck, finally tossing him overboard. Capt. Henry later died from his injuries. Click here to see the dramatic pictures taken by photographer Stuart Brown who witnessed the dramatic events."

We should've known it was old by the fact that we're looking at still shots instead of video! Nothing happens now without being videoed and posted by at least 6 people.

Jupiter is an inlet that I will never attempt. At one time and maybe still is deemed unnavigable.

The sandbars are constantly shifting so charts are useless. You have to navigate via dead reckoning but that only helps if you understand how to read the swells, water color, wind direction and tidal flows. You also need a worthy vessel and be skilled in large short duration following seas.

A recipe for disaster.

It probably wouldn't have helped the captain in this case - but still having a inflatable PFD on is a bit of insurance.

He was dead before he hit the water. Broke his neck on the gunwale when he fell from the bridge.

Doesn’t that Bertram have a helm station inside cabin?

That’s where I would have been.
