Does anyone have a source for hard to find Westerbeke 4kw FWC parts? I need a manifold that is no longer made. I have a call into Westerbeke but it is after hours.

May be a long shot, but try the big auction site for used parts. There are guys in Florida that dismantle boats and may have something.

capecod, what site is this? Sounds interesting.

I've found a complete 4kw for $500 but I can't get the seller to contact me yet. I'd have to drive down to get it

Ha, I guess I should have thought about this a little more. :) I was thinking there was a used boat part site out there. Thanks.

I was a merchant marine engineer on US flag ships. Lifeboat engines are Westerbeke. I always heard they are a Perkins diesel with a different head. Investigate Perkins. I saw their factory in England somewhere...a big place.

I have been trying to track the source of their 3 cylinder gas engines. Seems to be some opinions about them being italian. Mine has a Weber carb on it. Really hard to find anything definitive online. Was hoping to back channel parts since the W ones are so expensive.

3 cylinders I can find, it's 2 cylinder that is the issue. Westerbeke no longer makes them. After calling all over the US today I might have found one over in Norfolk today, my fingers are crossed. I also took mine to a machine shop to see if it can be repaired

Westerbeke uses Mitsubishi, Daewoo and Daihtsu engines. Most are Mitsubishi MiniCab engines.

Capt, after hitting walls at every turn I ended up going to a local machine shop. He cleaned the part up and made a repair to the damaged area.. Then I took it to a friend of mine who cleaned up the the weld and the face. It took about two weeks to basically rebuild the the part. So far the repair has held very well.
