This is a 1996 400 Sedan Bridge with Cat 3116 Diesel Engines. It has been well cared for in a freshwater environment.

Originally owned by singer George Jones, this vessel has had many upgrades. Most recently a new bottom job this last winter, along with new shaft seals. The carpet has been replaced with hardwood, which is a java color. Some of the pics show a cherry color, but it is more brown than cherry. The steps to the galley have been redesigned with a second step to make going up and down to galley easier and more comfortable than the large original single step. The pic of the guest stateroom shows a spot on the pillow, it is just a shadow.

A new bimini top and clear vinyl has been added about 3 years ago. This includes clear vinyl covers for the cockpit area to make an enclosed area that can be heated or air conditioned. A Kenwood sound system has been installed, and original TVs have been replaced with flat panels. A flat panel has also been installed on the bridge. A Vitrifrigo refridgerator/freezer installed within last three years, as well as a new microwave. And as a bonus, the original blender on the boat works as well - it's five o'clock somewhere.

Many maintenance activities have been performed to keep this vessel in top condition. Some of those are: fuel fill hoses replaced, as well as the head pump out hose. All head system hoses forward of main hose to holding tank have been replaced. The generator platform has been replaced with coosa board, and the generator rails have been replaced with custom extended rails to allow the weight of the generator to rest on the stringers. This was a flaw with the original design of the boat. A ProMariner battery charger has been installed. Bridge hatch underside painted and seal replaced.

Engines have between 1200 and 1300 hours. They run very well and we use the boat all year long on the lake. The hull was painted by the PO by Spry Marine on Pickwick Lake. The paint is well applied and has no issues. It requires minimal maintenance and always looks good.

Please PM me if you are interested. Asking $115K for this diesel engine boat that is very well maintained. Will consider reasonable offers.

This boat was originally sold to George Jones by the Sea Ray dealer in Panama City Beach. It was an inventory boat that was loaded since our dealer usually ordered the big boats that way. I was at the marina one morning puttering on my boat and the dock master came around and said: "If you are planning to leave in the next 2 hours or so, you need to move your truck to the parking lot.....we have a dignitary coming to look at some boats. I'm thinking a senator, an ambassador or some high state gov official. In about 30 minutes I saw why the marina closed.......the normally open gates were closed and locked and about 500 people were standing outside looking in. Then here comes a big Lexus SUV, they parked about 4 boats away and out comes George Jones and his fairly new bride Nancy who were our dignitaries for the day. It seems he had been there a few days before and was mobbed before even getting to look at the boat he came to see, which was David's boat pictured above.

Mr. Jones had a nice home in Panama City Beach at the time but it had no water access and he wouldn't/couldn't run the boat himself so it was kept at Bay Point Marina in PCB until George sold his home and had the 400 moved to Tennessee.

Here is another George Jones story. One of our marina neighbors sold a business in Montgomery AL and bought a really nice home in an exclusive gated neighborhood in PCB. They had just moved in, almost, and were still unpacking boxes far from being settled. Their realtor knocked on the front door and said, I have an unusual request.......I have an important country music star in the car and he wants to know if you would consider selling your house. Always looking for a profit, my friend said let me talk to my wife. After making what ever promises were required, he went back to the door and said "Yes, we will sell the house but not for what I just paid for it." He priced the house at "nose bleed money" and the realtor said let me check with my clients and returned to the car. In 30 seconds she came back and said can you folks leave the house for a few minutes. They did and when they returned the realtor was sitting in their living room with George and Nancy Jones and a signed contract for the asking price, and the requirement that the seller had to vacate in 15 days......kinda short notice, but since they still had most of their belongings in boxes was do-able.

Very shortly after that George drove his green Lexus SUV into a bridge on highway 96 in Franklin TN and almost died from his injuries. They sold the Panama City house and the boat left town and we never heard from George again.

Here is a brief addendum to the George Jones story that has nothing to do with the boat: We went to a concert in Nashville last night and decided to come home "the back way" since the powers that be decided to resurface all the interstates around Nashville at the same time, usually by closing 3 out of 4 lanes for repaving. That makes my drive 2+ hours instead of the usual 50 minutes. My "back way" took me down hiway 96 in Franklin TN very near where George and Nancy lived. We passed the bridge where George had his near fatal wreck. The state has renamed that little 2 lane concrete bridge the "George Jones Memorial Bridge", and you can still see the new concrete where George's Lexus took out 1/2 of the south side if the bridge.

Any idea where this boat is now?
