Hi,
I have a 205 sea ray 290 sun sport. The rear engine hatch opens as expected. However, when I try to close it, the movement consists of a jerky motion and it take about 15 - 20 minutes to get it closed. Any thoughts?

Assuming this is an electric hatch operated by an actuator, can surmise the ram bar part of the mechanism is faulty or sticking at end....have you climbed in and lowered the hatch to see any binding of the actuator on the way down? I would be trying everything before wanting to buy a replacement part...but I have seen them fail. Do you know the manufacturer of the actuator (look for mechanical sticker on base of unit) and part number of that unit? I would be calling those guys and listen to their tech approach or opinion...again, prior to buying anything, for now
