So back to the Vacuflush. Today I finally got around to replacing the ball, spring and flush shaft. It all came as a kit from Dometic. This one:

I like to include the pic so someone else knows what to buy.

Short story. It seems to have fixed my vac issue. Pump cycles about 80 times now, down from 140 (or infinite). Not sure which item was the culprit but glad it’s done. On the positive side, I have backup bellows, bellows O-rings and vac pressure sensor in my spares supply. I’m sure I’ll eventually need them.

One thing about this job that the directions with the kit don’t tell you. In order to get the water valve off, to get to the spring, you will need to remove the base of the toilet from the floor. Either that, or you need some real tiny socket drivers. Don’t fight it, it takes about 45 seconds to remove the four screws. But it makes the job so much easier.

80 still seems awful high to me. It's usually about 10 seconds.
Just curious... Do you have a 400DB? I had a 340 Sundancer that only cycled that long but the 400DB has more length to accumulate pressure so it takes longer.

Good point. I’m interested to know. I don’t recall how long my 320 cycled. Not this long but that was a much shorter run. On my 400DB it’s the master toilet I’m working on, so the distance from pump to head is pretty long. The guest head pumps about half as long. Of course, it’s about half the distance, too!

I just timed mine. Both heads are the same. About 55 pump cycles and 30 seconds.

Well, I have 2 bellows, 2 sets of bellows O-rings and one vacuum pressure switch in my spares box. If I can finish the season with it as it is (and I think I can), I can rebuild the rest of the innards over the winter.

Mine have fairly new duckbills, bellows and bowl seals. Everything else is what was there when purchased in 2013.

I've been fighting a similar battle in our 290 and have done various parts over the last month. I know the DB's are different, but after all my scrapes and cuts I decided to just pull the whole accumulator out of the boat for a thorough cleaning and testing. Turns out my new bellows O-Ring was positioned incorrectly causing long cycle times, and good lord was that accumulator nasty. I'm on my 3'rd "swishing" of bleach to clean it out and I'm hooking it up to a spare car battery to cycle it through.

The first few times it looked like chocolate milkshake shooting out

That looks awesome! I dig the compass rose, and like how you took the joint for the stair removal out of the equation. I wished I would have figured something out for that. I hate that joint... Are you going to put new pull latches in for the hatches? I spent some money on nice Perko's because they would be exposed, and then saw some knockoff's that looked identical at Wholesale Marine for 1/3 of the cost.... If you're not doing it already, you could leave the clean look that you have, and just push them up from underneath by crawling through the lazerette hatch when you needed to access the engines from the salon.

Hey... what were the knock-off latches you found for 1/3 the cost? I just redid my floor and need new latches to finish the look.

Well....Funny you should ask... I paid $150 a piece for mine for a ridiculous $600 for (4) latches. Strolling through my local Craigslist the other day bored at work, I found a guy that had some locally that I could pick up for $20 each. He bought them at some dealership closing Auction to resell. He had 20 of them, and I bought all of them for $250, thinking that I could flip them on Ebay and build a paypal slush fund from them. Still sitting on 20 of them......Hahaha! How many would you like? They're original Perkos brand new in their boxes.

Very interesting. Why don’t you PM me a price for four. Thx!

I would like to replace the neutral switches in the gear shifter housing at the helm, they are acting up. Sometimes I have to fiddle around with the shifter until the starboard engine finally starts. WD40 helps only temporary. Did anybody else have the same issue?
Sea ray doesn't sell the switches anymore (part number is 733717), does anybody know where to get them?

On my boat the neutral safety switches are mounted on the transmission. Only difference is I have 8.1's.
