After Bennett sacrificed his anchor to the tree root gods of Lake Lanier, I decided that I would add a new anchor swivel to my pre-emptive maintenance. Bennetts’ swivel sheared at the bolt that holds the 2 halves together, and I have the same standard 20 year old swivel that spent its life in and out of salt water. The recommendation was for a Mantus Swivel. I ordered the S1, for 1/4” to 5/16” chain. I think $75 delivered.

Nice! Considering one myself.

Hmmm. Never been in salt, but the boat is 14 years old. Gonna look and see what I have. That looks nice!

I've had swivels and removed them as they were literally the 'weak link". I've never noticed a difference with or without. Am I missing something?

I too have one and love it. I don't have chain just rode. My anchor would never seem to right itself.

Be sure to add checking the connection to your Spring and mid summer check list. Only takes a second and can save you big boat bucks

I went with the 2-shackle set up like my3sons. Both are rated almost identical to my 5/16 chain. Anchor rights itself every time so no issues there. Have set the hook numerous times with this set up and it appears to dig in well.
