Democrat debate

You all are amazing. You got your guy in the White House. You got the Supreme Court the way you want. You got Mitch blocking everything you don't support. Yet you pile on three pages worth of whining and complaining about and degrading people that think differently than you. In a boating forum of all places. Go boating already.

It's these people that "think differently" that are attacking our country daily, attacking our President with outlandish slurs 24/7 in the MSM, using their political party to run endless investigations in search of a nonexistent crime and want to take us back to the previous administrations "fundamental transformation" of our country.

IF they had a cogent thought that would be different. But they aren't "thinking" at all. All of their so called policies are utopian pipe dreams. Free stuff on top of more free stuff.

I would concede that they think differently if they would actually...well...think. We are not whining and complaining. We are marveling at the absurdity of it all.

I couldn’t go boating I was working and bored and there is a place for such threads.

This forum is intended for political discussion. You don't have to read it if it upsets you.

They don't even believe in the policies they are all spewing. Utopian pipe dreams no...just bullshit, yes. All the voters they're pandering to ought to be insulted by these very obvious and ridiculous attempts to buy their votes.

I come from a country where socialism is everywhere, in every mouth, every gesture, almost every ideas... In this country, you can't say you are proud of your own country, if you put a flag of it, you are a nationalist and/or a racist depending of the mood, when dining with peoples, you can't even make an allusion about country, patriotism or every one in the room will jump on you, and of course you will never be invited again. In this beautiful country, 40% of the population is working hard to feed those who can't/want. Borders were deleted for the greater good of unchecked immigration, as a result, you are not coming in this country to work hard and be able to live your dream, no, you are coming because you can have a decent place to live for free, you can have an healthcare system able to take care of your entire family for free, send your kids to school for free, even with some bonus for Christmas to be able to offer presents to your children (even though your are not Christian or you despise them). If it is not not enough, you can still join the others like you in a protest demonstration to ask more, burn some cars, hit some people going to work, even insult them why not.... (it happens to me, several times). The thing is... nothing is free... Someone have to pay somewhere, it is basic common sense but yet, some don't catch that...

Tired of this country I loved so much, I decided to leave it after 30 years, I wanted to offer more than that to my own kids, so I went to another country, one who seemed more promising in every way, unfortunately, a couple of years later, it happened again, legality of cannabis, social assistance rising, etc...

I am born in France and living in Canada, which is why my English is so poor, I am seeing the exact same thing that happened in France and started in the 80's. For me, France is beyond rescue, I tried, I really tried... but when my wife became pregnant I had to leave.

What I am trying to say is to be careful for what you wish. With socialism, you could really well get it, but I am telling you, once people are used to be fed by the government, there is no turning back. Once you have lost your national identity, it will take several generations to restore it, I am not even sure that's possible.

I don't have any right to say anything on this subject since I am not an American citizen, but I can at least share my experience, and for one thing, I deeply respect President Trump. Just because he is able to stand up against all those global thinking. Despite all the things the medias, other countries, brands, actors, etc... are throwing at him, he stands his ground. I hope history will remember such a man, a man able to keep the line. Even if you disagree with him (and I am not...), you have to give him that...

If our politicians' "english" was as good as yours, we would be significantly better off. Well said!

The USA is based upon Keynesian economic principals of capitalism in which each has equal opportunity to enjoy their fruits of hard work and success under the common protection of the US government. Those who believe that all should enjoy equally regardless how "earned" are simply ignorant that those who work hard and are successful will cease efforts or find other environments to succeed on an individual level. Any movement towards socialism will, no doubt, implode the US both economically and socially; the US prides it's self in the innovation and accomplishments of the individual. To compare the US to Canada or France (as several here have done) are missing many basic principals of how the US is founded, governed, and principled. Sure, one can state that drugs are more available in Canada but without the US and it's capitalistic principals modern formulary would be in the dark ages not to mention computing power, automation, and countless other technologies; which, by the way, were inventions of capitalists not the "government".
The current lineup of the US Democrat presidential contenders (Amy Klobushar withstanding) and their bent on utopian socialism have not articulated the above argument; in fact, have not articulated anything other than global "everybody deserves equally including illegal alien's". Should one of the far left were to be elected the entire US congress would stall as nothing will pass and the Supreme Court would be heavily engaged.

And, what is meant by "Capitalist" is not necessarily some CEO of a corporation but more that towards the factory line worker or pipefitter or nurse that has smartly invested or is working some innovation in their garage; this is what is great and must be maintained in the US.

Sorry if it was unclear (poor English again :x) but I was not comparing the countries at all, I was just sharing my experience where two different countries (France/Canada) with nothing in common except their political choices are taking the same direction. Agree that France is in his final stage and Canada early in the process but even if they are nothing alike, the signs are the same.

There is plenty of example though, Venezuela, Greece, etc... but I haven't lived in those country and I don't like talking about things I haven't experienced first hand. More than any other countries, France should be grateful for the last WWar among other things, so believe me, I am well aware of what we owe to the US, even with your previous President (who worried me a lot), I didn't forget because what we owe does not depends of the President. I lived near Omaha Beach and this is still silent of the sacrifices of your country. Beside that, all the others things you mentioned are important but ... not as much.

For Canada, I will only speak about Quebec state but they are mad against every one, which is pathetic since nobody knows who or where they are. English are bad people because they are trying to convert them to English (Including the other states in Canada), French are bad people because they abandoned them 300 hundreds years ago, American are bad people because they have to live in their shadow... in the end, the whole world is against them... I am just here since 10 years so I won't risk myself telling too much but I think there is little jealousy...

Most of the animosity with Quebec and the rest of Canada comes from the attempts and constant threat to separate from Canada and the other is pushing French on the rest of Canada...you don't see English signs in Quebec.... as a little kid growing up in Ontario, my damn cereal box was half covered up in French ...that's what started it for me :)

This is what free health care and immigration hand outs look like for the people trying capitalism to make a living in Canada.... It's 2 years old but I don't think anything has changed for the better.

And a case of 24 cans of beer is $56....a pack of smokes is $17.50... Gas is $4.50 a gallon. Let's talk about the richest country in the world for natural resources for electricity and natural gas and oil for that matter and its taxed through the roof where you have to run appliances at certain times to save money.... the average person is trading what they have for something they want... Going to the Indians for smokes... And selling services in cash so the government doesn't get a piece of the money.... Taxing the crap out of everything doesn't work. But you don't have a choice in a socialist country... And in the end all it does is create an underground of evasion and corruption....

I think Quebec are the only ones who haven't signed the commonwealth so basically they are taking a lot without giving as much in return, it could explain why other are pushing them out. Also the constant fact that Quebec is threatening to leave even if they couldn't be autonomous by themselves, I am fully agree with you.

Basically they replicated the French system which by the way is not bad, in fact I pretty much like it. But to be able to work well, only those who put money in the bucket should be able to use it. But like in France, the system become unbalanced when those who are not paying for it are using it.

I hear you... the tax level is just insane, I mean, I have my own company and I am planing to move it elsewhere in Canada but I i am waiting to see what will happens in the election to come this fall before doing it.
I have seen the French President Emmanuel Macron next to Donald Trump yesterday at the G7 and I have to say... I wish I had such a President, he is crystal clear when he speaks of something, answer the questions straight, he is a strong leader you can be proud of.
Macron or Trudeau are just wet noodles next to him. This kind of new era of Presidents elected on a physical criterion, not for what they have done before or for their experience or ability to lead. In fact we are better not to look at what they have done before...
