Hi

Recently my 215 has a strong gas odor when at idol. Runs well and no leaks apparent on or in the engine bay

5.7 mercruiser w/alpha 1, trailer boat, fresh water usage

we have a 98 215, pretty stout odor when we remove to cover to take to lake.......5.7 merc...do you use the bilge blower at idle?.....or when running at below cruising speed?...........we do and that seems to take care of odor.................

Mine also had a strong oder but mostly after fueling. The smell would linger for days. Mine was the rubber fuel fill lines. They break down and should be checked and if needed replaced
