Official 370 Express Cruiser Thread (1997-2000)

Hey guys. I'm having a Charging issue with my port motor. I believe the issue is related to the "Isolator" which is mounted on the wall in front of the port motor.
I took both alternators in to be checked out the technician said they were perfect.
My issue is if I am only running on my port motor, after a few hours, I start getting low voltage alarms. As soon as I fire up the Starboard motor, the Port Volt gauge goes up and the alarms go away. Does anyone have a Schematic for this Isolator? Anyone ever had this issue before. Last year I trolled on my Starboard motor all year, this year I am trolling on my port motor and am having Voltage issues.

Thanks - New Larger Deep Cycle Batteries and a Smaller Pulley made the difference. I can now troll all day long and never go below 14 volts!

Ok guys, has anyone ever tried to add an inline muffler after the water lift muffler? - Vernatone Round Mufflers
These Long runs are driving me crazy. Everyone on the boat is starting to complain.

I could not agree with you more I can handle it but nobody else can and fall asleep within 20 minutes which is not necessarily a bad thing LOL I have seen in inline silencers

Made the trip to Tobermory Canada this July. What an awesome time. Ran with two other boats

Hey guys, I wanted to share an issue I ran into.
1997 370 EC
3116 Diesels / 7.6 BTD Westerbeke
I was on my way to anchor out for the night, went to fire the Generator - nothing. Further inspection showed the 20A breaker on the generator itself was popping. I traced the electrical system to the short, which was one of the "safety sensors" which was shorted internally. There was no physical sign of failure. $35 part on amazon. This generator has 3 safety switches, oil, coolant, and EGT. If anyone else experiences this, maybe itll help. The diagram in the Westerbeke manual is a little goofy to follow, but led me to the right stuff.

Approaching winter and doing my "fix it list" I wondered if any of you guys had replaced your refrigerators, and what might be a direct replacement to the original unit.

Thanks for any info you can offer !

So which one was it that failed ?

Pics from the light parade in Middle River MD. Sorry for duplicates - uploaded from phone. Great time, 77 boats showed up decked out in way better lights than I had

Does any know what the Brand and model of the Drip less Shaft seals are in these boats? I just replaced my Damper Plate on the Starboard side and the Shaft seal didn't sound real good when I put it back together. It has the "Backup" seal ready to go. I just want to make sure I know how to change it out... Any help would be appreciated.

Hey guys, i am new to the group, purchased a 1997 7.4l gas EC this summer, as I was winterizing for the end of season i noticed approximately 1/2-3/4 a quart of oil under each engine, seemingly the same amount. I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems in the past or has any suggestions. The oil pans dont seem to be the issue as of now. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone ever replaced the rubber seals around the windshield vent opening? If so, where did you source the seals?

Mine needs to be replaced, it's really deteriorated and leaks a lot. I got a quote from a company I saw mentioned here - skipperbuds.com. I sent them a message from their website and got this back:

First reply:

I have to check with the windshield manufacture to see if they can still get the gasket, as soon as I hear back I will let you know..

Second reply:

Here is what I just heard back from the vendor about the center vent gasket, Your price is $343.00 ( plus 25.00 handling, plus frt). It will take about 2 week to get the gasket

*I hope this info helps please let me know this is a special order and ALL SALES ARE FINAL NO EXCEPTIONS;
AND ALL SPECIAL ORDERED NEED TO BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE THE ORDER CAN BE PLACED*

I thought that was too high, so didn't move forward with it, and I haven't found any other options. Will be interested if anyone finds a more cost effective solution.

hey guys, just wondering if anyone had heard of anyone with a sunpad on the bow, I have the snaps already in place, but no pad, didnt know if anyone had any ideas or heard of anything that would be best idea for up there.

Hey guys, wondering if any of you swapped out the control remote for the stereo at the helm. I see new models are 3 wire (power / ground / 3.5mm ) just wondering if anyone had any first hand experience.

Cheers!
