Democrat debate

Not that i am pro democrat or pro republican but why they hell is it so extreme one way or the other? What happened to candidates that have common sense? I have always voted for someone who is in the middle and i have yet to see anyone i like in either party. This is the problem with our country, people say its the president dividing us (i do believe he is not helping) but its congress who cant figure out a way to work together to solve the real issues we have. Until we get term limits for the house and senate, i cant see much progress being made no matter who is president. Just my 2 cents

While it's been the norm for politicians to trade promises for votes there is no attempt to even disguise the motive here, this quote from the Bern... "To win this election and to defeat Donald Trump -- which by the way, in my view is not going to be easy -- we need to have a campaign of energy and excitement and of vision," Sanders said. "We need to bring millions of young people into the political process in a way that we have never seen by among other things, making public colleges and universities tuition free and canceling student debt."

"Cancelling student debt" sounds great but the reality is that you are transferring their debt to a group of people who never agreed to pay for it. It is pure liberal gibberish.

I have paid for all four of my kid's college tuition, books, meals and housing... and now I get to pay for every kid that has debt now?.... I don't think so

Why in the world would anyone with right mind consider electing someone from our current congress to POTUS?
In today's political demeanor and extreme polarization it defies the intent of separation of powers.
Regardless, the format and execution of the debate was no better than a 40 character tweet.... I had no take-aways of value.

Very similar to the shit show that was the Repubs 20 person debates 4 years ago, i didn't watch then, didn't watch now.... just like mexico will pay for the wall.... the uninformed believe lies.... and elect people many of the time.....

Democrats promise free stuff to get votes all the while knowing they can never actually pass their outrageous policies. So what they are spewing is all socialist utopia lies. Socialism has never worked except to make the people equally miserable while the ruling elites enjoy a lifestyle of wealth and extravagance. They demonize the rich when they themselves are the rich. Even socialist Bernie has made millions off his book sales! They claim to be against human trafficking yet want open borders? How can they ignore the cartels that extort thousands of dollars to bring immigrants to our southern border then force some of them to carry bails of drugs into the US? The democrat party is anti American plain and simple and all of their policies will destroy our economy and eventually our nation period!

Does he mean the same youth that ate Tide Pods? Just checking...lol.

But seriously, between my 2 kids I have just under $110,000 is student loan debt (Parent Plus loans) and I don't expect society to pay for that. No different than buying a new house and expecting society to pay for it.

Took on 80k of college debt between my two kids. Almost have it paid off now.

They both have good jobs in this booming economy.

I have been working 80 plus hour weeks at 2 jobs for a long time.

I am not complaining.

I have no time time for the "I want free stuff" crowd. Bunch of bullshit in my opinion.

I’ve always been conservative, but of course I realize that Democrats get elected President, it’s kind of cyclical. In NYS, lately, my vote, and much of upstate NY, is pointless. In my opinion, term limits are fair elections: if you want someone out, then vote them out. For me, a pivotal moment was President Obama’s comment, “You didn’t build that”. And his desire to “spread it around.” I’m a pretty charitable person, but “charity by the government (free stuff given to people by the government to curry favor at the ballot box)” is actually forced compliance imposed by the government. The democrat desire to provide free stuff to everyone flies in the face of the founding principles of this country established in the Constitution which calls for a small Federal government checked by the power of the people, and a strong emphasis on States rights and particularly the rights of the individual to enjoy the blessing of liberty in the pursuit of happiness. I believe this is the root of the separation between conservatives and liberals that you are now witnessing. One group wants smaller government taking care only of essentials, and the other wants bigger government coddling people from the womb to the tomb. Just my two cents.

I see the numbers on college debt posted above. Hear the numbers from my friends which are in line with the above numbers.

Why should College cost this much?

@FootballFan ...I put two kids thru Purdue... Mitch Daniels our conservative governor who kept a surplus budget in Indiana throughout his governership. Took over as president of Purdue in 2012. He has held tuition at 2012 levels ever since including this year.

Tell me there is not waste in university.... Don't get me started with public schools that is just as insane...
