Just assembled port and starboard outdrives, reconditioned and repainted and repainted replaced. Also replaced and hoses and the Bellows. Reinstalled with new gaskets. I charged the batteries and reinstalled them. We are out of the water. Turned the engines over and only the port engine cranked. No power to generator, starboard engine, horn and no no action from hydraulics for motor lift. Troubleshooted and I am getting 12 volts on the wires, also cleaned battery terminals. Batteries read 12.5 volts. Tried to start generator from the bilge and got nothing Stumped.

Start with the simple. Battery switch on? Key on. Properly wired positive and ground? Sometimes the obvious is staring you in the face.

Cincy, thanks for your reply. Affirmative on both. I'm an electrician and thought for sure I could figure it out. But, I'm not a mechanic so it could be something else pretty simple that I've overlooked. Thanks, REZ

Check and double check your wire harness at the batteries. There are multiple small power and ground wires to attach to the batteries.

I have a picture of mine for reference, but still missed a ground connection this spring and similar problems like yours.

My 290 Sundancer is located in a small bayside town, Cape Charles, VA. Espos, I will double check all connections to the batteries. Thank you for the help everyone. Will update once I figure it out.

Agree about ground cable. If you battery cables are original to that year you should probably replace them. They don't last forever and internal corrosion can't easily be seen.
