I used them on my last purchase. I think the information they have is hit and miss depending on the boat. Don't expect the information to be complete, but it may be something interesting.
I don't know if I would buy it again if I was buying a $10k boat, but I probably would do it again if I was buying a $100k boat.

Never used them but I just ran my HIN# to see what would happen. It said I have 26 records reported on this boat. "A report could indicate that the boat has been involved in collision, a fire, been run aground or have warranty or recall information".
I've owned the boat since 1997, she has never had an insurance claim filed for any reason, she has never run aground, there are no recalls on this model, and she has never had a warranty claim filed. Unless they want to charge me $39.95 to tell me that I have registered the boat and renewed her documentation certificate every year since I've owned her, I'm struggling to see a reason to pursue one of their reports.
