Anyone know how to fix the exhausts system on my 200 sea Ray. Water keeps coming back in thru the exhaust.

What proof do you have that it's the exhaust? How old are the manifolds and risers? When where they last replaced? Did you check the gaskets?

Both engines rebuilt, they run great but water is getting in thru exhaust.

.Need a lot more info. What boat, what drive , what exhaust. More details the better.

No offense but there are all kinds of rebuilds done to marine engines. Why were they rebuilt? What was done during the rebuild? Were new exhaust components installed? Are the engines raw water cooled? If they are they probably should have been replaced and not rebuilt.

7.4 MPI Horizons had a lot of issues with water ingestion. Hopefully this is not the case but you might want to have a mechanic evaluate the issue

Dude you're going to need to provide more info than just repeat conclusions. Check the angles on your exhaust hoses. You're looking for more than a 7 deg. down angle.

maybe a 200 searay with a twin engine installation is just too heavy at the stern ? ;-)

something is odd with your questions ...

We do need some more general/detailed info for them to help you.

Which model of 2000 Sundancer do you have, is it a 340, 380, or ?

Where do you boat, is it salt?

What caused you to rebuild both motors?

2000 should have the extra spacer on the exhaust to help with the angle. Do you run a lot in no wake zone? That has known to cause condensation into the 454 horizons

Exhaust flappers in the y pipe, internally cracked exhaust manifolds, gasket failure in the risers or a cracked block.
Go to AutoZone and rent the video scope. Separate the exhaust where the exhaust hoses join the elbows and inset the video into the elbows and down into the manifolds. If you see evidence of water probably exhaust system failure if not probably a cracked block or intake manifold problem.
Good luck.

Let me make sure I’m reading this correctly.

You have a 20ft Sea Ray.
You have twin 7.4L V8’s astern.
Your exhaust is sucking raw water.

You’re stern is underwater
-OR-
There’s either a fishing story here

It's a typo. Not 20ft, 2000 yr.

If the OP is correct, that water is coming in thru exhaust...then the worst thing I’d fear is they put the wrong cam shafts in on his rebuild.

This assumes the exhaust system is correct and properly installed.

Plenty folks have asked questions and need more background information to offer any help. The OP does not seem to want any real answers....carry on!
